very poor decade for music imo, my vote would go to Is This It

The last decade was horrible for music. i cant really think of one good album that came out during those years.
Silent Alarm-Bloc Party Want-3OH!3huytttrIt's funny, I LOVE bloc party but DESPISE 3oh3.
Anyway, I would have to say Kid A- Radiohead.

I didn't know you were an Arcade Fire fan.
:o
Just started not too long ago. I need to get Neon Bible one day soon.Tied between Theogonia by Rotting Christ and Virus by Hypocrisy. Both effin' amazing, Maybe Genesis by Rotting Christ too, that was a masterpiece also.
Those are both good too, but I give the edge to Ashes Against the Grain...Limbs and Not Unlike the Waves are top notch songs.Choosing between the two agalloch albums that came out is very difficult :P

Those are both good too, but I give the edge to Ashes Against the Grain...Limbs and Not Unlike the Waves are top notch songs. I've listened to both faaar too many times and yea, Limbs is absolutely brilliant. Really each song on Ashes Against the Grain has a nice standalone feel while also going so well together. I love Agalloch too much...cannot wait for the new album.[QUOTE="Meinhard1"]Before you judge most music I listen to isn't from this decade but my personal choice is kamikaze_pigmyBleed American is definitely one of my favourites of the decade. Futures is decent, too, though one of my least favourite Jimmy Eat World albums; a few gems, but not as consistent as Clarity or Bleed American imo. I can see why some people prefer Bleed American, but for me Futures is the better album no contest. That said Clarity is probably their best work to date, and I don't think they'll ever be able to top it.
(it's nice to know I'm not the only person on this board who listens to JEW)

Well there some damn mighty fine material on The Mantle as well. I couldn't pick one over the other, they're so awesome in their own ways. Like using a deer skull as percussion on The Mantle >.>

Given their new album Invented a listen yet? Definitely got the impression they were running out of ideas. Few rehashes of past stuff in there. It's fairly decent but pretty much convinced me that they will never top Clarity now.
The Moon & Antarctica by Modest Mouse. If that counts.zakkroIt totally does. High fives are in order.

I actually prefer Chase this Light to this release. I agree that some of it sounds like rehash, but mostly the album is just kind of bland. I really like the song Invented though.
Is This It - by The Strokes
Hot Fuss - by The Killers
New Again - by Taking Back Sunday
Absolution - by Muse
The Sun And The Moon - by The Bravery

The Marshall Mathers LP.

For me, that album was surreal. Whenever I listened to it, I completely shut out everything around me and drifted off into the world as Eminem saw it. The obsessed fans, his marital problems, the custody issues with his daughter, the media's perception of him, and so on and so on. The album was so dark and gritty.
American Idiot by Green Day
21st Century Breakdown by Green Day
More Than You Think You Are by Matchbox Twenty
Toxicity by System of a Down
Can't think of many others because most of my music isn't from this decade.
