[QUOTE="AtlanticRock"][QUOTE="FrostyPhantasm"]Not calling Batman a superhero because he doesn't have super powers is silly. There are hundreds of un-superpowered superhumans out there. Batman, Iron Fist, Hush, Deadshot, Booster Gold, Black Beetle, Ironman, Hawkeye, Bullseye. Hell if you wan't to argue semantics about it, every green lantern isn't a super hero because they just use a gadget that gives them special abilities, which is exactly what batman does.FrostyPhantasm
Batman - Vigilante, Not a Superhero. Just a hero.
Iron Fist - Superhero (SUPERhuman enhanced abilities and access to chi)
Hush - Villain, Not a Superhero.
Deadshot - Assassin/Villain, Not a Superhero (or Super Villain).
Booster Gold - Time Traveler, Superhero.
Iron Man - Superhero.
Hawekeye - Bowman, Not a Superhero. Just a hero.
Bullseye - Villain.
Green Lantern - Space Cop, Superhero.
Batman may have a batmobile and special planes, but he isn't a superhero. He's a hero. Even in Justice League he's portrayed as just a man using his intellect instead of superheroics to save the day. He's an awesome hero but Superhero, no - that is, unless Grant Morrison is writting him. :-P
I disagree. How is green lanterns ring that acts as a gadget any different than the gadgets batman uses except it is more powerful? How is ironman's gadgets any more "supery" than batmans gadgets? The concept of Green Lantern is that he is an intergalactic space cop who can create whatever he can imagine through his ring. He can move/create meteors and destroy planets. With the ring he is a Superhero. Without the ring he is a normal human.
Ironman is the suit, without it Tony Starks skills are his intellect which don't transfer well into his alter-ego as Ironman. Ironman is a superhero.
Batman on the other hand doesn't use gadgets all the time or at all. You may have seen some episodes/movies with him using some tech but for the most part Batman's main utilities are his Utility Belt. Without the costume and utility belt, Bruce Wayne is just as effective as he was with the costume on. He is a vigilante, street-level crime fighter, and HERO. His detective skills, fighting prowess, and intelligence are above the norm but he is a far cry from: Super-Hero.
This again is all just being technical, of course. By definition Batman is not a Superhero, but for the average person who doesn't read the source material and isn't a fan/geek - Batman is a "superhero".
