I think Bad Religion managed to make good music for a long time and actually not sell out like some bands, oh well I guess they respect themselves for not really going mainstream.

Like actors, there are so many musicians, bands, artists out there. Some make it, some dont make it. It's about marketing too. If a band isnt marketable, they're not even going to look at you. Whether we like it or not, that's how it goes.

Awesome dude, I see you listen to a lot of the progressive rock/metal stuff. I remember you mentioned Riverside in the other thread as well, also another really good band that deserves to be discovered.

I dont know if you knew this but i will garentee that people wont even care to listen to what you posted, they like to put what they want, but on a different note that was actualy good...infact i take that back, that was great. I havn't heard accustic's like those in years, and that intro, the way he played it was so playful and advanced. Excellent find and ill be sure to give him a try.

As for bands that actually deserve to be mentioned... SilverSun Pickups...There is a reason why there debut full album Carnavas was considered to be the BEST album of 2006. This band is walking the opposite path of every band out there right now, and what makes them even better is that they arnt trying to be different. There sound is just mile stones away from almost all new aged bands, music at its raw form of Grunge with Psychedelic and Pop experimentation. This band has absolute crazy potential to be something big, and i can not wait until there next album.

Lostprophets are relativly known in the UK, but not in the US. I think they're really good.

Link A good vocal one.

Link A good instrumental one. Excuse the swearing, and the oppening is bad.

Link Good one overall.

Excuse the emoness of the first one, and swearing and opening of the second.:P

Ok wow what was that? That was like the Messiah just grabbed a guitar and performed another miracle. That can't be a solo can it? It was almost like three people playing a guitar. I was expecting his fingers to start bleeding at the end with the way he played and perhaps even a little stigmata or something thrown in.

It was good, I liked it, and that's coming from a death metal / goth rock fan.

All the bands I support are famous enough so I can't add anything to the list.

I am from the US and absolutely love the band! Sure they have gone downhill but they still pulled off that pop sound better than almost every band out there (Muse makes pop amazing).

I still think their first album is their best followed by their second. I just found out that their awesome drummer left after "Start Something" which is saddening as I have come to find him VERY talented. Their bassist also has some awesome riffs in the first album.

It's amazing how much the band has changed their sound.

They started off like this.

Then they went to this.

And then they went pop. (Witness how amazingly catchy they are when they go pop. Proof that pop can be awesome!)

Suppossedly they are going back to a heavy sound with the new album. I cannot WAIT to see what they put out.

The band actually has alot of special meaning to me personally as I found them right when I began a very dificult part of my life so they have a special place in my mind.

Anyways, another few bands that need more attention:
The Human Abstract (Absolutely INSANE level of talent in this band. Their guitarist (actually ex-guitarist as he left) is probably the best around now and if you don't believe me check out the solo that goes from 1:58 to the end of the song)

Earshot (Their singer is criminally underrated)

Oomph (If Rammstein is so successful why hasn't their main inspiration gotten any credit?)

Thanks, guys. I've tried recommending them a number of times, but nobody ever seems to take notice. I bought their album on impulse for $10AUD and it turned out to be perhaps my favourite of all-time. I'm expecting them to blow up with the upcoming release of their new album, so hop on that bandwagon early.

Now that I've got your attention, here's some more bands you might like:

The Black Angels

Black Mountain

Brightblack Morning Light

Comets on Fire

Yeasayer

It's a band mostly everyone has heard of but not everyone has heard.
