Anyone notice Giantbomb as the exact same layout?

So I was going to go back to giantbomb forums because I cant stand this new layout, I cant even stand the look of it. Giantbomb has the exact same layout as this, looks like it was made by the same person, WTF how is that. Guess I will not be using either site often.

They implemented it on both, yea I would like a darker theme. It's too bright for late night reading.

Yeah that forum is like identical? Gamespot and Giant Bomb has that weird thing that they show the amount of views to the left before showing amount of posts. It's totally backwards, most forums show amount of posts of a thread first because it makes sense. We read from left to right and the more important something is, the further to the left it should be. Topic Title - Posts - Views is the proper way, not Topic Title - Views - Posts.

Edit: To relate to this topic: I'm saying that Giant Bomb is weird for doing that and the fact that Gamespot forums looks almost identical to Giant Bomb AND they've chosen to rip off the same weird structure of the posts/views is just so suspicious.

They're both owned by CBS.

Lot's of CBS sites have this layout.

Yeah, they had to bring the Giant Bomb engineers in to help and reuse some of their designs, because GS's web development team is an old lady in a broom closet using an Apple Lisa.

Here's a thought... Giant Fail could've ripped off Gamespot's look. >_>

Have people still not found the button that changes it to the dark color scheme? The only good feature that existed on the old site, and survived the transition?

I didn't even know it was still there. It's not in the settings, so where is it?

@the_bi99man: The fact that the forum background color cannot be changed on the mobile version is worth knowing and ideally updating so it can be.

Signing in on the mobile version for me is impossible. No matter what browser I use (running Android 2.3.3).

if im not mistaken, they used the same design engine or w/e as GB did.

so yea, there would be some similarities.

Nothing wrong with the layouts. I just need black background haha

@foxhound_fox: I use Android 4.1.2 and besides the bugs, GameSpot works on the Chrome browser. I have yet to access the site with any other browser on my tablet because Chrome is usually operating adequately for me.

Then turn the black background on.

Well, the layout is not exactly the same, but they are similar. I would say the layout here is an improvement over the one at Giant Bomb. Maybe this place will look less like Giant Bomb over time too.

Giantbomb has been running this layout for a long long time. Their engineers now being CBSi employees probably got put on the design team.
