This how i got into anime.

First i used to take the mick out of all my friends who watched it. Then my friend gave me a link to a death note episode. Said if i dont like it. He will give me £100. I said i didnt like it. But he knew i wasnt telling the truth because iwatched all 50 episodes.

I lost the bet, but hey. At least i got something out of it. beautiful anime entertainment

Watched the odd episode of Full Metal Alchemist and Yu Yu Hakusho with a friend who was watching them at the time and both looked pretty interesting, so I ended up watching both series (+ Brotherhood) myself. YYH especially was what really got me into anime, along with Brotherhood.

grew up watching dragonball z, then toonami would always air animes that i enjoyed like tenchi then adult swim back when they showed the good animes would have yu yu hakasho, cowboy bebop, FLCL, and i just got into it. I'm not ashamed to tell people i'm into either and it always comes as a surpise because i guess i look like i'm not into anime but i love it. I like watching silly animes like gintama or high school of the dead or sora no otoshimono or serious stuff like cowboy bebop, usagi drop, ashihertzu baby (spelled it wrong on purpose, gamespot will censor it for some reason) and clannad.

I decided not to listen to what people who never watched Anime had to say about it and its viewers. So I watched some and liked it. Simple really.

I was also your stereotypical anti-anime douche at first (thinking its the kind of stuff that feeds off your soul, hehe) but after watching Afro Samurai I got more interested in Anime as a whole. I pretty much prefer anime over the real life, reality\police drama crap you regularly see on TV now.

Oh and since when did Death Note have 50 episodes?!

I saw some artwork of robots as a very small child. Always had a thing for robots..... Saw Robotech, than saw Gundam Wing and so on. By the time I was 8 I knew I preferred Japanese animation to American animation. Than I saw Johnny Bravo and loved that. Than I just started watching everything. :P

Yeah there was only like, around 20. It ended when an important character died. A shame it didn't go on after that but it'd probably have had some stupid death metal song to replace the original opening song and Light would turn horribly insane instead of being a somewhat reasonable character. That'd just be silly though

I used to watch One Piece on TV. The show stopped at episode 195, after two years I got sick of waiting and said well might aswell try out the original language.

Damn how I regretted watching the first 195 episodes in the first place. The dubbing sucked hard compared to the japanese one, the difference is night and day. I enjoyed it so much I started looking around for more anime.

Here's my history:

As a kid I prefer'd anime kid shows, but at this age I didn't know about "anime". I was a big fan of Pokemon, not so much of Yugioh and Digimon though but they were decent.

Later on as a kid, I borrowed some Dragonball manga books and read like thirty of them.

But it wasn't until later, when I was like what, 13~14, that someone sent me the first episode of Naruto. It was just laying around for a few weeks or so because I was like "lol cartoon shows? /lol" but then one day when I was bored I decided to try it out and I instantly fell in love with anime. This was probably when Naruto had like 60 episodes or so? I can't remember very well.

From then on, I've been watching anime pretty regurarly but as I've aged I've watched less and less. Just like gaming, at first I played like Superman 64 and stuff but come on, I didn't have any standards but as I grow more experienced I feel more and more bored of the lame cliches. Especially in 2010-2011 I've been watching very little because it feels as anime is in a really dump now with more and more ridiculous stories and more and more loli and pantsu. Now I just watch One Piece, Gintama (YEAH!!!!!) or rewatch older shows and of course a few others...

So there ya have it!!!

I watched Pokemon then I watched Yu-Gi-Oh!. Then I saw Yugi (main protagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh!) on the cover of Shonen Jump and started reading manga.

Then I started watching anime episodes of the manga in Shounen Jump.

When Toonami was around back in the 90s.

I'd stay up as a kid and watch the shows after mid-night.

Well, the 1st anime I watched and recognized as different(not US cartoon) was Escaflonwe, till Fox kids canned its airing

*note: I first got into such series as Pokemon and Digimon, but really didn't recognize they were anime

The 1st series I really got into and purchased dvds was Evangelion (before I say the endings......)

The 1st series that really pushed me into the manga culture was naruto (because the filler was horrible)

Yeah Death Note is one of my favorites. If you really looking into the meaning of the story, you can somewhat relate that to real life and how society is.

Some kid at school told me I should check out a movie called "Fist of the North Star", he said it was bloody awesome, so I rented it from Blockbuster and I was blown away by it, I'd never seen a cartoon with blood and nudity in it, I started renting more like Bubblegum Crisis and Vampire Hunter D, I've liked anime ever since.

I "accidentally" downloaded this little anime called F^3 when I was like 10. Props to anyone who knows what that is. Then I watched a lot of Pokemans on TV and eventually started grabbing real anime off the net. Started with Elfen Lied and the most recent I'm watching is Nichijou. I don't really watch it anymore though. The culture bothers me.

I loved the animes that passed through my tv when I was a kid. Later, when I was 15 years old, I was bored as hell so a friend passed me his DVDs of Sailor Moon including the rare Sailor Stars. Watched them, liked the anime so I went with Dragon Ball, Z and GT. After that I continued and continued till I became an anime fan. Also a fan of certain mangas.

I watched the first ever pokemon preview episode for English television. I think the "first episode" actually took place right outside a Cerulean City Cruise Ship. It's been too long for me to remember what the original episode shown even was.

Voltron and Robotech as a young YOUNG kid, then as a slightly less young kid an adult friend brought me 'Starblazers' manga in english. From there it's been a part of my life into my later youth. Thre was a bit of a break, then in high school I got back into it with friends, and the rest is history.

No offence but Sailor Moon did actually put me off the idea of watching Anime for several long years - that is until I've watched another Anime under the introduction of my friend.

Then - voila , I got hooked onto it ever since :o
