She's this singer who's an intentional cross between Madonna and Christina Aguilera. She makes all these (in my opinion) irritating songs to say "look at me, I'm so artistic and different because I wear entirely too much purple eye shadow and have my hair done up all goofy" You know, a while back I concluded Lady gaga can't seriously be that hollow, it's got to be a put-on to play on the mainstream market. She's so close to being a parody that she has to be. Not to mention she went to TSOA, which is a pretty awesome art school. She can play piano quite well and has a decent voice, and writes a lot of her work. My buddy compared her to Marilyn Manson without any of the occult and gothy links, and more of a glam-rock 80's fashion vibe. It kinda fit. Now, this girl..Ke$ha...is just depressing. Yay for singing about drinking hard liquor, getting trashed, getting arrested, and being sloppy.
I think that that's an insulting comparison, and I'm not a fan of either of them. Lady gaga can at least sing in key, though.

i saw the music video..ke$ha IS singing in key...anyway in my opinion both lady gaga and ke$ha are good. personaly this isnt the type of music genre id listen to but these are catchy songs that are fun to dance to...to the TC- srsly whats the problem? diffrent people have diffrent taste in music. if i made a thread for every artist i dont like OT would create a "i dont like this music-official sticky thread". just listen to whatever u wanna listen to. not everyone has the same taste.

That's exactly it.
Her songs, especially the ones that aren't on any of her albums, talk a lot about the people that she now finds herself surrounded by - how famous people are fake and insecure, how everyone is vain and materialistic.
She talks a lot about what's wrong with everyone, but does it in such a subtle way that it doesn't come across as trying to preach some righteous message.
It's like she's being incredibly fake on purpose but no one's smart enough to see that she's wearing a mask and she knows that there are people who will either love her for what they think she is or hate her for what they think she is.
me either, I like Gaga - she has some catchy hits. It's pop music, either like or you don't. But this girl Tik Tok... the auto tune was grating my ears and she looks dirty in the video, not my type. Maybe if she cleans up and straightens her hair.
Lady GaGa also wears antlers. I assume this is because of how dumbfounded and stupid she looks into the camera resembles a deer in headlights.
I never said Lady Gaga sucks, it's more of talking to the people who think she sucks, I like her music, and I have The Fame, and The Fame Monster on my iPod, and yes compared to this trash artist I posted, Lady Gaga is a way better musician who actually makes pop interesting again, and she can actually sing and play piano, no autotune, no gimmicks, she a good artist.
shes just another pop tool that will fade into the darkness. But what is more funny is, every time someone brings up how bad a song is or an artist, how crappy they are, the people who hate it are the ones giving it the most attention. Ex. Soulja Boy. The ones claim they hate him but always talk about him and take their time out to create videos of how much they hate him.

I wouldn't say top echelon unless that echelon includes hundreds. She's second tier. Not excellent, but she's good and she does well with what she has.

That was the first thing I caught. Then I recognized that she basically ripped off every popular song in the past year into one piece of crap song. Also, she looks like a whore. I said it.

I'm not a fan of her stuff, but her voice isn't bad. I mean, this live version doesn't sound altered.
