Let me just say it's been a very long time since I done one of these threads, but with the pandemic slowly dying out and the amounts of vaccine out in the wild, movie theaters might make a comeback after all...if only. (This is the 4 days weekend due to Memorial Day)

  1. A Quiet Place Part 2 $58,500,000 (new release)
  2. Cruella $26,500,000 (new release)
  3. Spiral $2,900,000
  4. Wrath of Man $2,750,000
  5. Raya and the Last Dragon $2,570,000
  6. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train $1,579,000
  7. Godzilla vs. Kong $1,007,000
  8. Dream Horse $817,373
  9. Those Who Wish Me Dead $641,000
  10. World War Z $448,000 (new release but this is a re-release)

Since A Quiet Place Part 2 was only in theaters, I went to see it and enjoy it...but not as good as the first film but still entertaining. Cruella on the other hand, only taking $26M is low but due to watching Disney+ with additional fee of $30, can't say I'm surprised people just didn't bother going to theaters unless they are being force to go out.

If movie theaters continues to show improvements by releasing only in theaters AAA movies, while bringing in good numbers, I'll be happy to do these types of threads here again in OT.

It's so great to see things slowly go back to normal what a nightmare it has been with this damn pandemic. Glad you enjoyed the movie it must of felt somewhat therapeutic to go to one after everything we've all been through.

Went to go see this on Saturday, my first movie experience in over a year. Surreal. Only 15 people in a 115 capacity theatre, all still masked up aside me.

For Saturday night on a Memorial Day (opening) weekend I was shocked, it felt like closing weekend instead. Theatre companies must be getting HAMMERED during this pandemic. I’m surprised it’s performing as well as it is considering, which is good to see and hopefully indicative of a comeback. I really miss going to the movies, and it would be a major loss to have all films go directly to the small screen.

As for the movie....eh it was alright, a bit of a retread over the first but still entertaining.

booked in to see this on thurs evening. can't wait, not necessarily for the film, more just for the experience.

funny how pre pandemic i generally looked at the cinema almost as a last resort for entertainment. can't find anything to do? lets just grab something to eat and go to the cinema. something as seemingly and relatively banal back then is now almost the opposite now. genuinely excited to go
