Wii U, still up an running?

I'm interested in buying a used Wii U since there are alot of old games (TLoZ: Windwaker HD, Metroid Prime Trilogy and so on..) i've not been able to play. I was just wondering if Nintendo has shut-down any of it's online functionality (E-shop, multiplayer etc.)?

I'm pretty sure it's all still up and running for Wii U... I think they just shut down the Wii's online.

@hrt_rulz01: Ok, that’s good to know. Have alot of old Wii games that i would like to try again. I wonder though how an old Wii-game like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption works in terms if it’s online component. I haven’t tried that since Nintendo shut-down Wii’s multiplayer?

Got one up in the attic thinking of digging it out for Zelda which I shamefully never picked up.

The online is definitely still running.

Get it for Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3. Definitely worth it.

Personally I think it's a great system.

@Izak80: I'm not too hopeful about online components in Wii games. I remember some 3rd party games working a couple years ago, but I don't know the situation now. As others have mentioned, you're in good shape with the U's online infrastructure.

If you're a fan of JRPGs, I highly recommend Xenoblade X. Signs are pointing to it not coming to the Switch. Which is a shame.

I still have my Wii U up and running, mostly for rpg though. Been playing through Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE recently.
