Can't go wrong with either NSMB or Phoenix Wright. I have Hunters, but I regret it, probably one of the worst games I ever played. Controls suck, absolutly no story, and it screams repetitive.

Thing is about that list there's such a wide range. Metroid is great for online, Animal Crossing is great for open ended gameplay, New Super Mario Bros. is perfect for the fan of retro games, and PW:AA is a good one for those who like to game with their brains.
If you want a game with replay-ability, choose either Animal or Metriod,
If you want a fun game that'll be a blast to play, either PW:AA or NSBB
