I don't mean regions overall, just places. For me I would have to say Lavender Town and the Old Chateau. Both places just have a really, really creepy vibe to them.

That's weird, both of you basically said the water... funny conicidence. I meant locations, though, like towns and/ or dungeons.

A tie between the Distortion World (the one that appears in Spear Pillar; not the one hidden) and N's Castle.

It's unfortunate that you can not revisit them.

Towns and routes I liked the tree village in the third generation and the route right before and after that village. 3rd generation had the best locals.

Lavender Town, the Pokemon Tower, and the SS Anne are my favorite places from the original games. I can't really think of anything in particular for Gold and Silver, but I remember I'd always visit Sootopolis in Ruby and Sapphire even though there's nothing to do there. The music there is really good and it stands out from the rest of the soundtrack. The Old Chateau comes to mind from D/P. I spent a lot of time there soft reseting for a shiny Rotom. @_@; For Black and White I'd definitely have to go with N's castle. My second favorite place is probably the Celestial Tower, but BW's Victory Road earns massive bonus points for being the first one I've actually enjoyed. I also really like Route 10, but mostly for the music.

I also liked places where there is a stretch of road long enough to bike up and down or left to right to hatch eggs. I also liked infiltrating the Team Rocket base the second time in the original game.

I liked the Battle Fontier in Pokemon Emerald where you had all the Frontier Brains and all. Very rewarding.

Sevii Islands. They first felt really fresh when I saw them being added to Gen 1, and the terrain is lovely, especially 5 and 7. Also strong NPC trainers to grind on = awesome.

Yeah, they were nice indeed. Especially the two ace trainers on one of the islands were great xp. VS seeker was great.

Anywhere in the first generation games. Especially lavender town And oh god, how the cave that had mewto in it.... Gives me chills. When gold and silver came out, the whole unknown place was pretty cool and immersive
