I think with the older systems on the VC (NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.) if you press the Home button the Wii does an automatic save state - meaning that the next time you start up the game you will be exactly where you left off. It basically treats it as though you just paused the game and came back to it later. That means that after you start from that save state, that save state is erased. So if you get a game over, it's game over.

Does this make any sense? If I need to clarify, just say so and I will.

When i turn off my wii, will the 'save' point still be there so i can continue?

Yea he's right, just press the home button and go back to the Wii menu. Next time you load the game you'll be right where you left off.

Have fun with it! If you're looking for some other good VC games be sure to check out Gunstar Heroes ;).
