I have been out of the loop with Pokemon games since crystal and I am trying to decide between x/y or omega ruby/alpha sapphire. So is one better than the other 3 or are they all good? Thanks in advanced

I personally prefer Ruby/Sapphire over X/Y. I don't know which is "objectively" better though.

@trugs26: why do you prefer those over the others?

I would actually go with X/Y, just because after playing Omega Ruby for a little bit I became annoyed with the Dex thing that has you hunt for special pokemon that appear as shadows in the grass.

X/Y was light on content, but you can catch and trade for pretty much every Pokemon. I got more enjoyment out of it than the remake.

Honestly, I'd go with Heartgold/ Soulsilver as they are the best games in the series, IMO.

But between those two, I'd say ORAS. It's got a lot more content than X/Y and is the most diverse and up to date roster in the series yet.

I liked X/Y more than Omega Sapphire and Ruby Alpha. Just depends as X/Y has better Pokemon and got me into Pokemon games again since Diamond/Pearl.

I played them both and i enjoyed ORAS a lot more. X/Y didn't do anything for me actaully. Quite a weak entry imo.

@TrappedInABox91: In hindsight, the story and going through the world for the first time was really enjoyable. But its severe lack of extra activities and post game content beyond battle maison really did hurt it. ORAS felt more feature rich for sure, even though it feels redundant in some ways.
