@roboccs: lol, I was thinking something more along the lines of "do you still love me?" or something. He's been texting basic greetings and one "hello?" followed by a "..." for three days now, after an initial picture of a guy holding a girl that says "DONT WORRY ABOUT WHO WANT ME, BECAUSE I WANT YOU!!!!" Then he called me "pokey."

I'm just wondering what kind of relationship these two have where he can text the wrong number for three days, get no response, and not realize it.

The weirdest thing is that I got a new phone but kept the same number, and I've gotten four or five wrong numbers since then. Makes no sense. The lady from New York speaking gibberish was okay, but I haven't gotten anything as good as the lady accusing me of molesting her cousin and telling me to shove a boot up my ass then twist so that I'm stuck with a boot up my ass.

So every guy she meets somehow ends up either gay or a douchebag.

Kind of excited for a WiiU related Nintendo Direct tomorrow. Hopefully we'll see some Mario Kart.

I've been working on the super hard final level of 3D World for the last four or five days. I beat the final level of 3D Land in a couple of hours..... The 3D World one is the hardest Mario level ever, but I love it so much. It's one part puzzle-solving, one part precision platforming. Once you've figured out how to get past a section, you still have to execute every single time after that.

I've died maybe 200 times, but I still look forward to trying over and over and over for about a half hour each day. At a certain point, my mind just can't take it any more and I started screwing up the easiest of things, so I have to quit. But it's a ton of fun. I wish I could record gameplay to commemorate my accomplishment.

Anyone here watch the Nintendo Direct? I won't spoil anything major.... I just wanted to say the Tecmo/Koei partnership game left me scratching my head... I'll try to keep an open mind if Nintendo is playing a major role but I'm definitely skeptical...

I would like to see a change. Not really because I think Iwata is killing the company, but because it'd be nice to see what direction someone else would take the company. Every company needs a shakeup eventually, and it feels like Nintendo is in that kind of rut right now. The games have been great, but they're to the point of redundancy.

The N64 shook every franchise like the baby in Babysitting Mama, and that forced fresh air into all of them. They've been tightening those formulas for so long now that there needs to be a deliberate change that won't be forced by new hardware capabilities like it was before. If Iwata can facilitate that, then great, but he hasn't shown that he can.

I don't think Iwata is killing the company but they need to step outside of their comfort zone for sure. The Dynasty Warrior's thing was unexpected, I'd like more stuff like that ... but with a franchise or team that I believe in.

I personally thought the Dynasty Warriors thing looked silly, like they're reaching a bit. Again, I'll keep my eye on it because ninty wouldn't easily let someone else bastardize their main franchise.

its interesting, but idk. i like that they're trying new things. i just don't know if this is the right way.

People were none too thrilled when they saw what Tecmo did to Samus. It may be a different development team buy still...

@ttualumni13: same here minus DKC... I just have no interest at all. X is my top wish list game on any console. Also, add WiiU Zelda to the list too. I dying to know where Nintendo is going with the core franchise.

The whole Zelda + Dynasty Warriors thing did not impress me much, but I am willing to give it a try.

The rest of the Nintendo Direct went as expected. Not many big surprises aside from Rosalina.

In other news, I am impatiently waiting for Black Flag to arrive in the mail.

It's not bad

I am looking forward to playing it.

ACIII really let me down, but the reviews on Black Flag were positive enough to convince me to give the franchise another chance.

Who created that therealjasonguy account? And I bought the WiiU a couple of days ago, but only got Super Mario 3D world with it.I like the gamepad even though it took awhile to get used to it.The battery life is terrible for the gamepad. I tried the console a couple of times before I bought it.

I enjoyed watching today's Nintendo Direct and sat through it all easily.

Minutes after I reflected on what reasons more I would buy a 3ds or Wii U because of this Direct. I slowly realized there aren't any.

The story is fine. More importantly, regardless of what you think of the story, the story missions aren't crap. And they're not forced on you like they were in ACIII. There's SO much to do between story missions, it's kind of ridiculous. I feel like I'll never finish it.

Yeah Rob, well, it took you forever to play Xenoblade so I can forgive your lack of vision regarding DKC! ;) :P I absolutely love the new trailer for it, looked amazing! That Dynasty Warriors thing looked SOOOO abysmal though..

When Xenoblade was announced I thought the whole concept sounded ridiculous... Didn't get it until November last year, considered selling it when it was fetching $120, then decided to play it then sell it... It became my favorite game in years.

I somehow care about the plot in AC games, but it is far from the main component to me.

The more I play the more I like it. As Jordan pointed out I'm barely started with the story. I know each side of the conflict and all that but there's just so much to do.

So far, the story in ACIV is unobtrusive and surprisingly revealing when it comes to the first civilization stuff, without being stupidly convoluted like the last few games have been. It's light-hearted and self-conscious, and it goes out of its way to be fun. Such a great change of pace from ACIII.

Thinking of picking up an iPod for listening to music instead of using my S3. Then I remember you have to use iTunes and it makes me not want to get anything made by Apple...but I'll probably cave and get one.

What's wrong with iTunes? I don't like Apple neither, but iTunes is still a solid music manager. The standalone iPod Touch is still a better overall music player than Samsung's Galaxy Music Player, then again, is the Creative Zen still around?

Unless you change what music is on your iPod frequently, it's not a problem. You sync it once and don't worry about it for a few weeks until you get new music. And pretty much every podcast is on iTunes and autosyncs, so that's awesome.

i've still yet to own/buy an apple product :D

@FireEmblem_Man:I hate iTunes for a number of reasons. It's not lightweight, it's pretty bloated and runs like crap. I use a lightweight music player in Windows (Foobar) and in Ubuntu I use Clementine, which is also light weight.

Considering most other devices are just plug and play, it's pretty annoying that I have to download a separate piece of software to manager my music rather than just plugging in my device and then clicking and dragging files then ejecting.

Awesomeness! A new Bioware IP coming out eventually. I had no idea but I'm intrigued.

I finished my first few hours of Assassin's Creed IV a few minutes ago.

I like the fact that the game - differently from III - lets you explore the world almost right away, as opposed to after the game's midway point.

At first I thought the mission structure was still a little bit too scripted and restricted, but the second sequence of missions brought some pretty nicely designed tasks. I hope it keeps on going like that throughout the game.

Had my first big problem with my Wii U tonight.. Since the Wii U can stream you Wii games to gamepad now, I figured I would finally do my system transfer and redownload all my eShop stuff. Well, this all went fine, moved all the games to the SD card along the way to make room since they left the Wii mode storage minuscule for some stupid reason, and discovered that as soon as I move the games to the SD card, they no longer launch and delete themselves when I move them to the menu. tried three different cards. Of course, the games work fine when left in the Wii menu, but that leaves me with 70% of my games inacessible. Facepalm...

If I had a dollar for every time I deal with a finicky camera, blind leap of faith and getting stuck for several seconds due to weird border layouts in Tomb Raider Underworld,

I'd be able to pay off my tuition costs college instead of a summer job!

@ttualumni13: so in wii mode on the WiiU the game deletes itself if you try to launch from an SD card? Is that their defense for home brew users since that launches from an SD card?

So I just made an impulse buy (with gift cards that were a year old) and bought Tales of Xillia. Completely unnecessary but I've been wanting to play it for awhile. I won't have it until after Christmas so until then I can cram in other unbeaten games.

@roboccs: No it just fails to load off the SD, it gives me something like "this cannot be moved at this time" when I try to move it back to the Wii, at which point it disappears, which is weird because its the exact same SD used on my Wii.

Now see thats the weird thing, my HBC is on the console memory itself, not the SD card (One of the nifty things about Ninty using an older security version for the vWii), so the SD is a totally clean card.

Lol I'm a moron. All of the games I was seeing on my SD card were the ones I had moved to the SD card from my ORIGINAL Wii, all the ones I redownloaded off the eShop got forced to the pages after that. Deleted all the old ones tied to my old Wii now they all work fine :P Sorry for insulting you, Wii U :(

I forgot about the free wii sports trial on wiiu. I gotta give golf, bowling, and tennis a try! The golf looks fantastic.

Also, watching the old school Chipmunks Christmas... The memories! I love watching the classic Christmas specials.

I checked to see what day this thread was created and instead of giving me a date like Dec. 23, it says how many days ago it was created... I feel like it's doing the math wrong but maybe I'm wrong...

Wii sports club golf is awesome... Seriously.... Talk about innovative gamepad use. It's easy enough for casuals but also deep enough for more experienced gamers. People on Miiverse are worried that after Christmas when most peoples free trials are done the online community will die... Probably true. It'll be neat to see an influx of Miiverse users after Christmas.

How is it that i'm still not even close to finishing AC4?! I'm on sequence 9 right now so i'm guessing i'm almost done the main story (based on previous AC's). What i'm taking about is the extra stuff. I'm not really aiming for 100% but there are still a good number of places on the map I haven't even touched yet.

I haven't found the story to be anything too special. It's not bad but i've just been having a lot of fun sailing around, collecting things, upgrading the ship, and visiting unexplored areas.
