Hello fellow Nintendo Gamers,

The Switch is getting close to release, and if you love to take your games on the go, we know that the battery life is a lot to be desired due to an estimate of 2.5-6hrs of battery life. Well, there is already a solution, if you travel a lot. External Type-C batteries is what you need if you want to extend your playtime. Sure they're bulky and a burden to carry around, but if you want non-stop action, you'll have to get one.

Here's one I found that is affordable with a big power bank of 30,000 mAh and Type-C compliant that supports quick charge on Amazon: Aukey. This was presented by Youtuber and Nintendo diehard fan, Super Metal Dave 64.

Here are the Specs.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0

Engineered to refuel devices up to 4x faster than conventional charging. Powered by INOV (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage) Technology for fine-tuned power output and more optimized charging cycles. Up to 45% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0 & compatible with a full range of USB connector types, from A to C.

AiPower Adaptive Charging Technology

Tuned to support healthier battery function and faster USB charging speeds, AiPower intelligently adjusts power output to match the unique charging needs of all your USB powered gear. With up to 2.4A of dedicated adaptive output per Ai USB port, your devices will each receive the safest maximum recharge rate possible.

AUKEY EntireProtect

Advanced circuitry and built in safeguards to protect your devices against excessive current, overheating, and over charging.

Universal Compatibility

Designed to work with all popular USB powered devices from iPhones to Android phones, tablets, photography gear, Bluetooth speakers, headphones and more.

24 Month Warranty

Whether it’s your first AUKEY purchase or you’re back for more, rest assured that we’re in this together: All AUKEY products are backed by our 24 Month Product Warranty.

Battery Indicator Light

Press the power button once to check the remaining battery level. Battery level is indicated by the color of the LED indicator light. green battery indicator light means your Power Bank is charging, when it reaches 100% the light will turn white.

Red 0 - 30%

Green 30% - 70%

White 70% - 100%

Specifications:

I like the Anker PowerCore+ 20100. You can get it pretty cheap now.

I think what Ninty is kind if expecting is that a lot of coffee shops now offer USB charge stations of some sort, which gamers can use to recharge their Switch out and about. It's a guess, anyway.

@Ovirew: Well you can also charge it with cell phone/tablet chargers, I think that was the general idea for Nintendo.

Check this guy out:

The reason being, it's over 3 times larger than a switches battery so you will get a ton of life, but also and most importantly the AMPS that it can drive on the usb-c channel is 3A. This is critical as the switch requires at least 2.8A to ensure that it can stay on, playing intensive games, and charge. Chargers that are weaker will still "charge" but you will still see your battery levels slowly drop as it cant provide enough juice.

Nintendo Switch uses Type-C chargers. So you should go for the Flux universal portable chargers that are available in the market.
