Should Pokemon get a game like Smash Bros

Pokemon has a large following and is well known. It'll be a new IP from an established franchise. It would practically be guarenteed 1 million in sales and will operate on a formula that works.

So if there is a game using the Smash Bros. engine with all Pokemon characters (and let's say theres 25 slots), who should be in there?

The familiar older Pokemon, a starter from each generation and a legendary from each generation.

I am not sure about a Smash Bros-like title, but I would certainly love a new Pokemon Stadium with all monsters available.

Pokemon Battle Revolution was such an embarrassment that it does not even count. =P

There have been rumors on a Pokemon fighting game for the Wii U.

I'd say it's very possible for them to be true, unless Nintendo and Gamefreak is pulling our leg. Here's the video where the image comes from.

I agree, i really dont care for a Smash bros with all pokemon characters, but a new Pokemon Stadium would b nice!

I came in thinking you meant like what they're doing for Smash Bros 4, make two (I guess four in this case) of the same game for both systems. I actually think that would be neat.

Pokemon needs Stadium 3 and Snap 2 before a Smash Bros like game.

If I found out that game exists and was out now, I would immediately leave the house and find a game store, buy a Wii U and buy the game. I'd be back home with it set up in less than 20 minutes :)

Seriously what a great idea, a game like that would really give the Wii U a sales push more so than a future Zelda or Metroid.

Holy Crap, I would go apeshit if they included the original 150 pokemon I'd write an open check to Nintendo

I personally think that Super Smash bros is a better concept, all different Nintendo characters (including pokemon). i wouldnt be interested in a fighting game with all pokemon espically if there is 150 or whatever, it would just make it more complicated

im still hoping for a smash bros type game with Fire Emblem characters..but i guess we will wait and see what this FE X Shin Megamei Tensei game is all about

well i mean, Smash Bro's has four playable pokemon in it already, plus the poke ball power up. I get that that's a really small amount but i don't think i'd like to see a smash bros style pokemon game, unless it was a download only title at a cheap price really.

I really thought with the technology the 3DS has a Pokemon Snap 2 would be in order!

I think Smash Bros. is fine enough, with all Pokémon it would just make the game less about the history and entirety of Nintendo and its IPs, and more about one specific series. There's also over 700 Pokémon and not all of them would be playable. If it were just like 25 Pokémon, then there's no guarantee your favorites would make it into the game. It's more than I would expect from Smash Bros., but not enough for me to expect from a Pokémon-centric game. More importantly, I think there is a lot that can be done with the main series games.

a pokemon version of super smash bro's would be awesome, here are a few pokemon id like to see in there-

Hitmontop (this would be awesome), Lucario, Machamp, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Golduck, Starmie

basically a lot of fighting and water type pokemon I think would suit the format.
