Official Pokemon Black 2/White 2 Discussion and Info Thread

I'm trying to keep away from all the spoilers so i'm majorly surprised when I see the stuff in the actual game :D

For now I'm just playing Pokemon White and Pokemon Conquest to fill the time:lol:

I'm in complete agreement. I like Pokemon music to begin with, but these arragements are just great stuff.

I'm liking Articuno getting Hurricane personally. It doesn't help much, but it does give a really powerful STAB that will hit most switch ins for at least neutral damage and with how dominate fighting is, it never hurts to have something that can take them out. Moltres gets it too, but nobody likes Moltres. :P

Power Split Claydol could be interesting.

Gliscor just hit another level of annoying with Sky Uppercut.

That music... is so good I'm at a loss for words.

Edit: I'd like to point out these are actually GREAT remixes, I really thought heartgold and soulsilver had some good, but a LOT of badly done remixed music that strayed to far from the originals IMO, the firered/leafgreen sevi island music were johto remixes and they were superb.

World Tournament looks like it's going to be amazing! :D :D :D

Pokemon Smash was right... Kyurem is the strongest Dragon pokemon when combined with Zekrom or Reshiram. :shock:

That's the second highest base stat total, right below Arceus' 720 total. :shock:

Serebii has updated the Exclusive Pokemon page for B2W2.

So it looks like the the Unova exclusives are the same as in BW aside from Zekrom and Reshiram switching. I'm not sure which I want now. I'm kinda thinking Black 2 since I owned the original White version; plus I get Heracross! :D

I'm still getting Black 2 even though I prefer White 2's exclusives and location differences. :P

I wonder what's next for Pokémon...
Remaking Ruby and Sapphire seems less likely now. Half of the Hoenn legendaries are available in B2W2 and you can get the rest via HGSS. You can also challenge all Hoenn Gym Leaders and Champions in World Tournament. It feels like they're wrapping up Gen V and will directly go to Gen VI.

Who used Tepig on Black or White? I was just wondering what you thought of him, I've used both oshawott and snivy but I was thinking of using Tepig for White 2 :)

I wish they made some changes to the starters. Even though they look ok they are actually really bad Pokemon.

I dunno if I even want to use a starter this time.

There's so many other Pokemon to choose from; the starters just don't seem as great in comparison.

The new Unova pokedex entries have been translated, and some of them are... dreadful. :?

Ok, i'm confused about this new Challenge mode...

So apparently, you receive the Challenge key after beating B2 and the Assist key after beating W2. You can link with another game to receive different keys for your game.

I also noticed that Serebii added some info for the gym leaders in Challenge mode. So i'm guessing if I got Black 2 and defeat the E4, i'll get the Challenge key unlocked. But is the key tied to a save or the actual cartirdge. Can I reset and play the whole game through on Challenge mode with a new save? Or do I need a separate game card, start a new game and link the key over?

Either way:

1. I'm totally getting Black 2.

2. This is such a stupid idea. Just let us select a difficulty setting from the beginning...

From the looks of it, it's tied to the save. But a save that has it can send it to another game regardless of the latter's progress. So presumably you'd need a second game with Challenge Mode already unlocked to send you the key in the beginning if you wanted to play it through the whole game.

This is a pathetic idea to get people to want both versions. I can understand exclusive areas and Pokemon and the whole trade/connect with your friends philosophy but difficulty settings?! You've got to be kidding me!

At least I can enjoy Challenge mode for the post-game in Black 2 without connecting.

Speaking of challenge, i'm loving the whole medals feature they added. I don't usually give a damn about trophies for my PS3 games but it might be fun trying to get all these medals. However, i'm noticing a lot of medals that involve things like Fes Missions, Join Avenue, etc. Don't we need to connect with other games for those features? :|
