I dont get it... why are the floating in the air (ie. not in karts) yet you can see the shadow of the cart...I dont quite understand what they are going for with this.ag1052

And adding the shadow of the karts shows how immersive it is. and i was actually hoping for something a little more intracite or detailed.
Have they mentioned anything about this boxart ever since it was shown a few weeks ago?
If not it's still a rumour, I hope the boxart of the actual game looks great.

Casuals/non-gamers will eat that up even though a traditional controller will probably perform much better.
Nintendo is going for simplicity nowadays. I can see this as being real.the box art does seem a bit too simple for a racing game, i dont actually believe this myself, but i think some people might even be thrown off by its simplicity, they might think its not a serious racing game, idk.

Thanks for showing us this :), though I think the boxart is a little plain, it needs more color or something.Bass7
It has the same color and theme as the Wii console box. If you take issue with the boxart, then you will take issue with minimalist art in general. While plain, it is not flashy and gimmickry that we are often used to in video game art.

Umm... That's because it isn't a serious racing game?

LOL
Looks cool. Hopefully the case will look betterAndYOU
Thats a good point...since it comes in a box to have the wheel included, I wonder if the game case will the same box art... oh and if the game comes in a cardboard sleeve like link's crossbow training or wii sports Im gonna have to punch someone in the head.
I doubt this is the final boxart or even the final title of the game. They'll add a subtitle.bluezy
nope that'll be the final name, mario kart isn't really into this idea of subtitling
or at least the main mario kart games aren;t : super mario kart, mario kart 64, mario kart DS and now mario kart wii
double dash had a reason to subtitle as it was attempting to change it's dynamics
and super circuit was a remake
so yeah mario kart's tend to just go with the title of the console, plus this probably is the boxart, look at the ds boxart (UK dunno bout anywhere else) it's near identicle, except doesn't feature a wiiremote and he is in a kart

Because its meant to show that you will feel like your actually riding a kart.

Marketing tactic it seems: Immersiveness. In other words the steering wheel is adding even more options to the Wii, and not just for Mario Kart.

Why would you want to find a sense?

and did they do that for Mario Kart DS?
Boxart is fine. Just dont know about the steering wheel / how responsive and useful will the motion control be. Plus since theres bikes in the game it seems weird, bikes dont have steering wheels.RhetorixNintendo Power and other magazines played this game and they said the controls with the Steering Wheel are really Responsive.
