It could be better. I'm hoping for a bit more excitement on the actual disc case.

Thanks for showing us this :), though I think the boxart is a little plain, it needs more color or something.

Because it looks like they're playing the game.

And adding the shadow of the karts shows how immersive it is. and i was actually hoping for something a little more intracite or detailed.

Wait, that's official? Their keeping Mario Kart Wii as the name, they could have give the game a subttitle like Double Dash and super circuit.

[sarcasm]They should be playing with GC controller because the real pros use only GC controllers. The motion sensing is just for the casuals, the hardcores will use the GC pad.[/sarcasm]

Have they mentioned anything about this boxart ever since it was shown a few weeks ago?

If not it's still a rumour, I hope the boxart of the actual game looks great.

I'm guessing that's the boxart for the Wii Wheel AND the game. The REAL boxart is on the game box inside the box  make sense...:?

the box art does seem a bit too simple for a racing game, i dont actually believe this myself, but i think some people might even be thrown off by its simplicity, they might think its not a serious racing game, idk.

They are bringing the focus to how you will play the game with a steering wheel. Casuals/non-gamers will eat that up even though a traditional controller will probably perform much better.

It has the same color and theme as the Wii console box. If you take issue with the boxart, then you will take issue with minimalist art in general. While plain, it is not flashy and gimmickry that we are often used to in video game art.

Umm... That's because it isn't a serious racing game?

why would you choose performance over gimmiky fun? may be gimmiky but that's what mario kart is! YOU CAN FIRE SHELLS OUT OF A KART, but a gun would proabably perform much better...

Boxart is fine. Just dont know about the steering wheel / how responsive and useful will the motion control be. Plus since theres bikes in the game it seems weird, bikes dont have steering wheels.

Thats a good point...since it comes in a box to have the wheel included, I wonder if the game case will the same box art... oh and if the game comes in a cardboard sleeve like link's crossbow training or wii sports Im gonna have to punch someone in the head.

I doubt this is the final boxart or even the final title of the game. They'll add a subtitle.

Without a doubt you'll be able to buy a second wheel seperatly, nintendo may be a money grubbing corperation just like the rest of them but they wouldn't go so far as to make you buy 4 games to be able to play with 4 wheels!

nope that'll be the final name, mario kart isn't really into this idea of subtitling
or at least the main mario kart games aren;t : super mario kart, mario kart 64, mario kart DS and now mario kart wii
double dash had a reason to subtitle as it was attempting to change it's dynamics
and super circuit was a remake

so yeah mario kart's tend to just go with the title of the console, plus this probably is the boxart, look at the ds boxart (UK dunno bout anywhere else) it's near identicle, except doesn't feature a wiiremote and he is in a kart

Marketing tactic it seems: Immersiveness. In other words the steering wheel is adding even more options to the Wii, and not just for Mario Kart.

I like the box art. It's simple, looks like the Wii box, and gets the point across quickly. If you buy this you'll be racing with iconic Nintendo characters, and it will be like driving with an actual wheel.

The floating in the air could show how immersive the game is? like you dont need a real kart to enjoy this? and if they had a cart, how can you see them holding the controller/wheel?
