I have been hearing that the 64 Link was the best one.
Is that true? And if so why? Why would he be so much better than the others? Or is it that he is in one of the greatest versions ever created?

all links are pretty much the same. he ismore or lessthe player. the only major difference is art style. in which case, i like the TP link the most.
More Link himself, apparently people are able to associate themselves more so with certain links rather than others. Some who have certain preferences perfer windwaker over ocarina while others consider themselves older so they go with the original.
Here's my list:
1). A Link to the Past
2). Ocarina of Time
3). Majora's Mask
4). Twilight Princess
5). Wind Waker
6). Legend of Zelda 1
7). Legend of Zelda 2
8). Minish Cap
9). Phantom Hourglass
10). Links Awakening
11). Four Swords Adventure
12-13). Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons
PLEASE READthe best link for me it's the ocarina and majora's link, because he is the one that got it harder. In his childhood he was treated like garbage by the kokiris, he then has to get older and has to face a lot of responsibilities when he's only ten, he has to grow up, so even when in the end he is a kid again, he will never be truly a child no more. And when his first friend leaved him (Saria) he found Navi, but Navi separated from him too, sad. Oh and also separated from zelda.
Whe then can see a pretty much darker link in majora's, when he travels to termina he is the only one who can save them and by turning back the time again again and again he is some way, isolated from everyone around him because no one undestands him, sadder.

^^ that plus he had most equipment, fought the most bosses, had the most magic, had the most powers, didn't get a single chance to live his life with all the enemies after him and never got the chance to have babies with Zelda, LOL. and he had to face Dark Link.

This one:
Nice, I had forgotten about this one.
that guy looks so bad*** that I think they could lose Link from the picture and make a new IP out of the Fierce DeityHere's my list:

You ranked Oracle of Seasons/Ages last? No offense, but I hope you get attacked by a wild puma named Fred who likes feet and hands. That way you cant drive to the hospital, or ever enjoy Zelda again. No offense.

true!!
"Toon" Link is the obvious choice, he didn't start as one of the " chosen heroes" like the others. He was just a kid who wanted to rescue his Sister, he eventually got the title of "hero" but unlike the others he actually had to prove to the Gods that he was worthy of the title. He also beat Ganondorf in the most epic ending in the series ever by STABBING HIM IN THE FOREHEAD!You also have to admire his patience, no other Link has had to sail the Great Sea, and he did so like a boss.
Most Links are the same but if I had to choose one as a character I'd say the Wind Waker Link. His goals are purely selfless and he heads off to save his sister, not knowing what lies ahead. He knows how it affects his grandmother and he wants only to help as best he can. Then he doesn't quit when he is roped into the save the world plot. I'd say he's most heroic.
As far as most interesting goes I'd say the Link's Awakening Link. Simply because, the game really offers you insight into Link's psyche, since everything is a dream. Plus it suggests a fourth wall breaking idea that Link knows he is from the mind of a game maker for Nintendo. (With the presence of Mario and Kirby enemies.)
Wind Waker Link was the only link that wasn't pre-destined to save the world, but did it anyways so he has that going for him.
In terms of design, I'm drawn most towards Skyward Sword Link.

Majora's Mask Link wasn't destined to save Termina and Link's Awakening Link actually destroyed a world, in a way.
