Depends on what you didn't like about it. It still emphasizes the linear obstacle course levels over the free-roam levels that 64 and Sunshine had, so if that was your main complaint, probably not. If your main complaint was the difficulty, I'd say it is more challenging than the first one. And if it was anything else, again it depends on what it is you didn't like.
I didn't much care for the first one but I love the sequel because of the changes made. So will you like it? I don't know. First you have to explain why you didn't like the first one before anyone can actually help you.

Personally I find FPS incredibly boring because all you do is run around shooting one person to the next, but that's just me. Well to answer your question, no, you'll hate it.

If you don't like a specific genre, chances are you won't like a specific game in that genre, especially a sequel to a game that you didn't care for. :P

The game is the same thing as the first one, so if you didn't like the first you definately will not like the second. I don't know why but I bought the game because I thought Yoshis being in the game would make it so much beter, but it didn't.

Matter of fact i HATED SMG Well why are you even asking? Watch or read the review. It's the same thing. Just better (and since SMG was like a 9.8 in my book, well, you get the point).
read the reviews. The reviews say its SMG with a new coat of paint, which isa good thing. Meaning it is exactly like SMG1, just new levels and power ups and diversity, which is fantastic, but in your case, not a good thing at all
Yeah you may not like it. If you hated the liner part of the game, then you would only like one galaxy (not spoiling it for anybody who hasn't gotten there yet.)
