Just downloaded it! :D From the looks of things so far they have definitely put a lot of effort into this free title. Download it now folks!

there is a single plater mode that the player swaps between two links but it feels odd at timesHow do I play this? I have no friends

It's good so far. I'm getting the hang of controlling the two Links. I just don't like they way you move outside of the map to choose your next location. I much prefer the exploratory mode common with many Zelda games. Other than that it's pretty nice. It's keeping me from doing my homework anyway :P
I had plenty of fun playing this game on the GBA. At that time, my brother and his friend had GBAs so we were able to play together.
It sucks that there's no online play, but I guess that would be too much to ask for for a free Nintendo game. I do have a 3DS and an XL though, so I'm good.
i don't like it maybe because of lack of online for a muiliplayer game, and single player feels odd changing from 2 linkselbert_b_23

It saves after you complete the level. :)how do you save the game? i don't see the option anywhere. i only see retry, return to menu, etc.

People hating something free. i am not hating on it and sure its free but i know no one in my town that owns a dsi or a 3ds so no matter what i can't play the true game i have to play the dumbed down single player game, it doesn't do me any good i would have rather the game not been free and came with online so i could play the true game
Got through the Sea of Trees level. Controlling two Links is fine, just needs a little getting used too. There doesn't seem a whole lot in this game, but otherwise it still fun.
Is this for the 3DS only or can you download it on a DSi and DS Lite as well? Is it in 3D?
Euaggelistes
It a DSiware game so you can also download it on the DSi and it not 3D.
I am liking the 4 Swords only played a little bit of it, but really fun.
Now I understand it has not baring on this game, but still I've been wondering about the colored clothing, in this game it obviously represents the different Link shards :P , but in a normal game Green is the normal one, Red is strength or resistant to fire, and blue is defense or allows you to breath underwater, so the purpleish one, what would you speculate could be its powers if it were to ever make it to the other games. We already have improved strength & defense, and improved breathing under water & resistance to fire. Perhaps the Purple one is improved speed or makes one light so when you jump (roll of edge into jump :P) you can jump higher and further.
What are your ideas?
So can you guys explain what this game will be like, is it basically a story mode adventure? And you have the option of playing it with up to 3 other people? Since it's a free game, I'm guessing the game is short, roughly how long is it?
Originally, it was just a multiplayer add-on that they had for the GBA port of the SNES title "A link to the Past." So it's a comparatively shorter adventure than most other Zelda titles. Basically, you're tasked with going through three different levels, then a final level, and you can either play by yourself in single player mode or with three other friends who have the game.So can you guys explain what this game will be like, is it basically a story mode adventure? I went ahead and downloaded it. I had the original GBA version, however it lacked a single player option that the Anniversary Edition now has, and nobody else I knew at the time had the game, so I missed out on playing it. It's also free, so I thought, why not?
