This gen (except on Wii) brought about the rise of HD rereleases, and Nintendo seems to be jumping on that ship in grander style with the Wind Waker remake that features HD resolution + updated textures and lighting. Would you want to see Nintendo do this with some of their prettier Gamecube and Wii titles with Gamepad support, similar to the New Play Control series did on the Wii? Personally, I'd like to see it happen for games like: - Xenoblade - Donkey Kong Country Returns - Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 - Skyward Sword - Red Steel 2 - Metroid Prime (Any of them or the trilogy works)

The only good example that I can think of is the GCN game Geist.

If they were offered at a reduced price, and ran perfectly just like the did on Wii or better, yes.  Why not?  Wii games could really benefit from 720p, but 1080p is too much.  They'd also need to do more than just up res it and have it run perfectly, they'd have to speed up loading and slash pop ins, and give them lots of high quality AA and AF.

Basically if they give lots of care to them yes, otherwise there's no use.

You're right.  re-releases should not happen because they either have to pay lots of attention to them which cuts into new game development, or they're just shitty cash grabs.  Either way it's not good.

What's wrong with the original Wii games?  Nothing.

There are a few games from the Gamecube era, or the N64 era, that I'll be looking for soon that I know are going to be fairly expensive. Super Mario Sunshine and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness being a couple of them. HD re-releases offer consumers an opportunity to play these games again if they missed out on them originally.

Now these could just be released as VC titles and I'd be happy, but if they just got cleaned up a bit I wouldn't be upset by that.

I agree, but pretending they won't happen is just ignoring reality. HD rereleases and DLC are staples of the industry these days. They're easy money for developers because they take minimal effort (unless they're a fullscale visual overhaul like WW), it doesn't take much to break even and it bolsters release schedules, which Nintendo of all people desperately need.

Meh, not really. Perhaps if the care that use to accompany remakes or re-release was put into it, I would. But the more companies do it, the more lazy and careless the effort becomes.

I wouldn't mind a HD release of skyward sword, galaxy 1, and maybe twilight princess. The rest I wouldn't pay to replay again. Out of those I would like to see a true HD version of skyward sword the most. Was my favorite wii game.

I wouldn't mind remakes, but the focus should really be about new games, since that would appeal more to gamers still on the fence about buying a Wii U, which is what Nintendo needs most right now.

There's not many I can think of that I'd really want to play a revamped version of. I guess Super Mario Sunshine if they managed to fix the camera issues and added in some new content.

Not really. Wii was so recent that I think they should wait a while before re releasing it's games. And a lot of the Gamecube classic have already recieved some rereleases. Metroid Prime had it's trilogy release on Wii, and Pikmin got a rerelease on Wii too. Resident Evil 4 was already released on Wii, 360, PS3. Then multiplayer oriented game series like Super Smash Brothers and Mario kart are going to get successors and they don't lend themselves to well to rereleases. Wind Waker was already announced to be getting a Wii U port, so there you go. :/ I guess you could do Super Mario Sunshine. Although it's one of if not the most poorly received core Mario titles.

Yes! From the Wii: Xenoblade (PLEASE fix its draw distance. It get's so damn annoying needing to find a person with a quest or a certain monsters but unable to see them on radar or in sight unless I'm really up close) From Gamecube: Star Wars: Rouge Squadron 3 (Please add online abilities) Twilight Princess (It seemed like it was half made anyways. I'd like for them to add all the things that may have gotten axed due to GC's disc size such as the extra temple I've heard didn't make it or the huge forest that was shown in the trailers...) Lost Kingdom games (Under-appreciated IMO, but I'd definitely buy them day one) Zelda Four Swords Adventure (If not for Wii U, 3DS please. Just make sure it has online abilities...) Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (Same as Zelda FSA, include online abilities...) Geist (Or perhaps some sort of sequel...) Resident Evil 4 Smugglers Run From N64: Beetle Adventure racing Donkey Kong 64 Jet Force Gemini (Probably won't happen but would be nice if they could make it happen...) That's about all that comes to mind...

If Nintendo set up a brand new studio to JUST do HD remakes, then yah boi! Otherwise, nope. Don't like the main Zelda time wasting time with ports, for example.

More than just HD upgrades (like MH3U), I would prefer remakes which take advantage of the new console, like Wind waker. Some titles as Xenoblade and the last Story, which don't use the Wiimote at all, could work great and look awesome! Although in those cases, I'd prefer a sequel/prequel. Regards!
