Boy kills himself over Wii

Something tells me he had more issues then the Wii.

wow.....ive seen kids who obsess over video games before but this just takes the cake. i go days without playing my wii. this is normally when parents set boundries. like he's only allowed to play for so long each day and get him out more.

Or problems with his parents.

I'm pretty sure he didn't kill himself just because of the Wii. I remember being 13 and plotting suicide during punishment because I felt the world was against me, nothing seemed to go my way, etc lame teen angst thoughts. Granted, I was suffering from depression and a complete brat, so it's possible that he was one or both of these as well.DudesDontDude

Good point. A typical well rounded individual wouldn't hang themselves over this. Esspecially considering that he was 13 years old. There was probably more to it than his father confiscating his Wii, but that's what probably pushed him over the line.

News stories just like to sensationalize everything, the fact is that the Wii had little part in this unfortunate event.

I wonder if he's met the kid who killed himself after plugging his Australian Wii purchased at a garage sale in his US outlet.

First off, i want to say sorry for your loss to the family and i hope they can cope alright.

But now i wonder...How do you "accidentally" hang yourself? I mean a kid isn't accidentally tie his tie onto the bed and then fall.

Plus, they even pointed out he was sensitive - so imo, if he was sensitive and his life was bad, he had every motive to go and try to commit suicide.

But he is most likely in a better place :D

if he killed himself over the Wii ONLY..then the sucker deserved to die..i hate spoilt brats like that....but if there were serious things that led to his suicide, then i feel sorry...but most punks these days are just spoilt little brats that get whatever they want...when i have a kid, if he acts like a brat, ill deprive him his video games for a whole damn month, and play them infront of him...and if he acts like a smartass after that..no TV even....not that hes gonna get that much time to do either, since ill be training him in MMA...but stillIronre5

Never thought I'd see the day, I know his only problems weren't the Wii but, come on, one day? I could go my whole life without playing any game at all, and this coming from a 13 year old. Good thing I don't get controlled by anything easily, I dont get angry or upset if I cant use my computer, watch tv, play games, maybe I get a little upset when I get grounded from playing guitar, but I don't do a tantrum.

Lord Omikron is right, a lot of kids need to go out more with family or friends or just to play something outside like soccer or with a dog I donno
