I was thinking about picking up a Mario Party game (4 or later, don't have my n64 anymore) and I don't really want to drop the money on 8, since I feel there's a little too much luck involved. Of the other ones (4-7) which one do you guys think is the best as far as both a single player and multiplayer experience? I haven't really played a Mario Party since 3, so I appreciate the help.
mario party 8 is just as lucky as the other ones. In my opinion mario party 4 is the best but thats on my initial impression i never actually compared them.
I wouldn't recommend MP:8... My buddy bought it, and even with 4 players it is still kinda lame. There is def too much luck involved, and it def needs to grow up a little for the older audience.
It seems 2 was the high point, everything after went slowly downhill. Not to say they were bad, but they got a little worse each time. I have not played 8, for the record.
If you haven't played 4-8, i would say definately 7 is the best. It has all the features of 4, 5, and 6, and since you havent played the others, the games will feel brand new. It's also very competitive compared to the simplified MP8.

Mario Party has always been about luck, just because GS points it out now doesn't mean that it hasn't always been there lol. the wiimote makes minigames feel great! Instead of just rapidly tapping A for every minigame, the wiimote allows for a differnt variety of gameplay. And the morphing candy, I think, is awesome :)Â
