I bought Metroid Prime 3 back when it came out and still can't bring myself to beat it. I was loving the game all the way until Valhalla when I needed to go get energy cells. I have all of them except for one and need that last one to completely beat Valhalla, however, my frustration with the whole Energy Cell Quest thing is just too strong for me to go back and pick up my wiimote. I just don't care about beating the game anymore.

Did anyone find themselves in a similar situation?

Died three times on Omega Ridley, gave up for about 2 months, went back and kicked his ass. Beat the game too, as its right near the end. I regret taking as long as I did. My advice? Suck it up and keep playing, its totally worth it.

All 3 primes had a fetch quest so this is no different from my favourite games last gen, I finished this game and started again almost immediately :D. Personally its my favourite game this gen so far and its the exploring and having to think I love.

So far I've collected 3 or energy cells. I just now got the X-ray visor at the Pirate Homeworld and am currently looking to get something to protect me from teh acid rain.

The last fetch quest is pretty irritating, but imagine how much more irritated I am that I'm stuck at 97%!! I've beaten the game, but I didn't save, because I couldn't bear the thought of not getting 100%. So...I've got a bit of crawling through the dark to do.

Compared to artifacts, energy cells are a given. Seriously. I could find some without searching for them. I just looked around.

Oh and I couldn't put the game... the experience was so immersive.

I only had two cells to find at that point in the game. So I didn't suffer.

I beat the game at 67% ish, never worrying about hunting all the energy cells down. I think I missed 3, beat the game, and am now going for 100%. I'm at 99%...where is that last missile expansion!?

I'm guessing you never played Metroid Prime 1? Energy Cells were incredibly easy compared to the artifacts and the keys. Damn those keys.

I got stuck in the Hyper mode when fighting the first boss!! I was really upset and drop it for a while, but it is so rewarding in the end that, eventually, I came back ;-)

I hope you decide to try again.

I have a different reason for not beating it. I managed to find all the energy cells easily (probably due to my scavenger habits), its just I suck at the final boss. I can't beat the floating head thingy, I can't strafe enough to get a good shot at its neck.

I had no problem with it really. I got the most annoying energy cell before most of the rest so I didn't have the same problems. The last one I got was right in the beginning of Valhalla, and I didn't even notice for a long time. I felt so dumb after I found it, but I was glad I finshed the fetch quest.

I beat it once in Normal difficulty. Now, I'm beating it in hypermode difficulty and I'm in the last planet. Omega Ridley in hypermode was really difficult, but fun. I love this game.

On Hypermode, the game is too easy, other than the first boss (Who is insanely annoying)

But this is coming from a guy who can beat Metroid Prime on Hard only dying once on the Omega Pirate ;)

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who has this problem.

The sad thing for me is that it's not just MP3 that I haven't beaten.

To date I have 4 Wii games and have only beaten 1 of them, RE4.

The three games I have yet to beat are SMG, MP3, and LoZ: TP. Sad I know. Feel free to cry if you have to. The 3 games I have yet to beat are, arguably, the best games on the Wii to date.

I honestly thought by the title of this post that you were unwilling to finish it because it was so good you'd be sad if it were over. Reading your post though I must say I am very disappointed in you sir. Be a man. Finish collecting that last cell, and carry on until you beat the second greatest game of the last 10 years. To not finish a game of this caliber....make you a sissy :P

I simply beat it on Normal with 70% completion. It was a great game, but I have other stuff to play (like OoT, which I never played in 1998).

I finished the game 100% on hard mode about a week ago. There was one Energy Cell that was annoying to find, and the Omega Ridley battle is really annoying with the part where you have to shatter his armour.

Fantastic game, I could easily enjoy it a third time.

I got sidetracked when Galaxy came out. Then I got a loan of RE4 and had to play that as I hadn't played the Wii version. Nearly finished that now, so then it'll be back to Prime 3.

I found myself in a similar situation, but I carried on. I found this thing called a MAP and it shows where all the items are! Imagine that! I found all the energy cells no problem. Beat the game afterwards. Awesome game. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

I had to go to GameFAQs to find the last energy cell, the one near that giant statue on the second planet you go to. But it was worth it. It was either that or just give up on finishing the game, and I definitely didn't want to do that.

I didn't have that problem with mp3, I do however have that problem with many other games, I try to keep my collection up to do and in doing so i will have 3 or 4 new games in a month and never get around to beating all of them.

To give you an example, I go to EB to buy a new game, I find a cheap used GC game and pick it up as well, the next week a new title comes out so I buy that, then never get around to beating all of them. I had just recently put in P.N.03 for the cube and beat it after owning it for over 2 years, I hate myself for not doing it before, I loved that game.

MP# is a fantastic game and it's truly worth all of the effort. If you have all but one then why not just beat it? I mean you put all those hours into it to complete the game anyways right?

and besides, you are missing out on alot of great things, once you are done collecting those cells then the game gets super wicked!!

just find a couple of hours one day, just put it in not thinking about how annoying finding those cells were and just get that last one, You have my word that you will be hooked on it again!

The map room will show you where they all are. If you want, just check online for a walkthrough to get them all and then continue the game on your own after. I was also i nthe same situation until I realized the cell i was missing was on the valhalla in the first room near the crashed space ship on the floor... that's the only one that is not on your map from the map room.

But the end level is fun and the end boss wasnt too hard. I beat her and the beast first try.
