If its $249, I'll still get it but it upsets me a little, so long as i can fetch money for my DSi, but knowing Nintendo we will need to keep our DSi's to transfer DSiware to 3DS via some brain dead solution that is less graceful than having a unified shopping system

Lets hope We can copy it to SD and transfer it that way, But i doubt it

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a DSi to 3DS link cable specifically for transferring the content

Also, we still don't know if it has Friend Codes

The original DS in australia is selling for around 250 at the moment. I don't remember but would assume it was at least 300 when it first released here. Hence I don't see the big deal... I'm sure they'll try to charge about $400 for the 3DS here though...

It will be about $50 cheaper in the US. Japanese prices are always much higher.

The DS original and Lite both launch in Australia for $199. DSi is $250.

Since the Japanese price works out to $308A I'm sure it'll end up being $350 - $400 over here.

Great if it is that price i wont bother untill i see a price drop. Or if the PsP2 is announced perhaps that will peak my interest.

Nintendo DS: 15000Y, $150, 150euro.

Therfore,

Nintendo 3DS: 25000Y, $250, 250euro.

If that's not the case, then the numbers will be smaller for NA/EU as they have been with every DS upgrade launch.

And just for good measure,

Nintendo Wii: 25000Y, $250, 250euro.

Yay Australia. Jesus Christ it sucks here. If it's going to be that price, I think I'll settle with the Lite or DSi (haven't got a DS yet).

Even if you don't have alot of money right now, it isn't going to be out for about six months! Just throw some loose change in a jar every day and by the time it comes out you'll be well on the way to having the cash. Trade in or sell a few old games, or maybe your DS to get the rest of the money. Easy.

Even if it is $300 (big if, I still think it'll be $250 at the most), it is only about the cost of 5 games. I think that is a reasonable price for hardware.

Well I say everybody start saving money now, I thinks it worth it. The only bad thing is in a few months a lite version will come out with new colors.

This seems VERY accurate as to what we can expect. The 3DS's features and graphics are quite nice. The amount the system is capable of and how superior it is to the 3DS (on paper anyway) is pretty awesome. I personally think this is one of the most interesting "consoles" to be released. It looks pretty good too IMO.

The price is justified IMO with all the great additions in terms of features, and even hardware things like a telescoping metal stylus and such. It comes with a 3GB SD card, and the system looks great.

Now what I am thinking is how this will pave the way for the next home console :). I think it will be $300 and with much better graphics and online.

The features it offers are indeed amazing but i dont believe they fully justify the price. However i guess its all specualation atm we dont know the Western Price of the 3DS. Im hoping Nintendo is loyal to its fans and offers a price in which they know will be reasonable, im alittle worried considering in my opinion the Wiis price is terrible for what it offers. Nintendo knows they can price this thing whatever the hell they want and consumers will blindly pay for it.

And? I just showed that the conversion rate has nothing to do with the international prices, and most countries in the world incorporates the tax into the stated price.

Well my personal guess is it will go for 200$- 250$ in the US. Though I might be a little timid in buying this on release.

I think it will be 250-270 here in the US. No matter the price point I'm still going to get it. I'm just looking forward to the day I can pre-order the thing.

like some people said, things in Japan are more expensive, so I do not believe that the 3DS will cost $300 when it hits the stores in America, if anything it will be the price that the Wii used to be sold at. But even that is hard for me to believe, but that doesnt matter, I will still buy it, though it might not be a day one buy. You cant always get what you want right when it comes out.

IT'S NOT $300......

The US price will probably be $220. (same price as ipod touch)
