i just realized the cardinals are still in the hunt for the nfc west thanks to losses by the seahawks and rams.
will we have a 7-9 team make the playoffs?
should a division winner with a 7-9 record be allowed in the playoffs?
I say yes to both questions solely due to the fact and i know people are getting tired of hearing this " anything can happen in the NFL"
heres what i think the nfl should do
if the wild card team has a better record than the division winner example saints 12-4 wild card and rams 7-9 nfc west champs then the wild card teams should get the home game.
However im still mixed with the second question because this season we could have 2-3 teams win 10-11 games and miss the playoffs

I thought the Seahawks would win the division with 8-8, maybe even 9-7. But now I'm not sure, they look horrible. Now I think a 7-9 team will win the division. And I have no clue who it will be. It may even be the 49ers, and just last week I was laughing at people who were saying they were still in it. But they've been looking like a mediocre team, and mediocre will win that division, sadly. Because the other teams are just bad. Rams have come a long way, but they're still pretty sad.
I do think a 7-9 team should be allowed in the playoffs if they win their division. Otherwise why even have divisions. It's a good system. Occasionally a better team will get "screwed" and miss the playoffs. But for the most part that's what the wildcard spots are for, to balance things out and give good teams a chance at the playoffs even if they're not the best in the division, record-wise.
Giving the teams with the best record the higher seeds regardless of whether or not they're a division leader isn't a bad idea. But I think I still like the current system. It intensifies the division rivalries. Look at Pittsburgh and Baltimore for example. They'll likely finish the season 1 game apart, maybe even tied. But one of those teams will get 2nd seed (probably) and the other will likely get 5th or 6th. So there's a lot riding on winning that division. Same with the NFC south, and maybe a couple more divisions.
