Apple is about to buy the top mobile flash memory maker, Anobit. This will undoubtedly cut off any left-over reliance on Samsung.

The last time Apple made a large buy was with P.A Semiconductor, and together they ultimately designed the custom ARM chips powering all iDevices today.

Anobit has the key to EVEN LOWER power-consumption Flash Memory, more stable, and surprisingly manages to even be more inexpensive than similar-quality hardware. This is only more good news for future iDevices.
