I was looking back in my posting history and i spotted one of my earliest SW postings. And it was EPIC.

Vandalvideo, Foaming Panda clashing against me and metrovania (who's he?)... man! The debates were a battlefield!

I was having fun actually. I knew SW has pretty much died now but i didn't think it died to the point where i no longer debated or have fun in doing so (and yet i still post there).

Anyway, i just thought it may be some good reading and may spark up some good discussion 2 and half years on. Jandurin and Ontain had posted in it actually...

P.S. My prediction in this thread was right on (MS and Sony going the motion route).

You were actually debating in that thread, not trolling which is what most people in Systwem wars do: Posting just to geta rise out of other posters. And the thing is a lot of good posters take the bait, troll back, and get banned themselves.

The trick is to ignore the trolling and stick to the sensible topics. But those are few and far in between so you end up ignoring a lot of stuff and then, yeah SW seems dead :(

It can be quite nostalgic to those of us who remember SW back in the day. Posters were more daring, and there were more worthwhile threads and discussions. However, when you have multiple things working against it, like harsher mods and moderations, memorable posters getting the boot/leaving, more and more rules that get progressively stupider, the board loses almost all of its appeal. SW was originally meant to be a dumping ground for the scum of GS, but now it's arguably the most civilized board due to harsh enforcement. The GD is more like the old SW than the current SW is.Verge_6

I'm getting bored of the place too. These days it's the same crap over and over- sales this, Uncharted that, Halo that, blahblahblah, etc. I can't remember the last time someone made an interesting, original thread.Floppy_Jim

TBH it seems pretty much every board besides the OT board has seen better days. I used to post all the time in the Wii, PSP, Legacy Platforms and DS boards but they've all pretty much flatlined. SW is still "alive" but not kicking.-Oath

Could it be a sign of the times? In other words, the period when there was a worthwhile discussion like the console launch period.

Yeah it's been that way for a long time. I used to enjoy going to sw because it had originality in it. Now it feels like a chore. All the new troll's keep on posting the same stuff over and over and over...I'll take Bad--Robot over anyone of them. Even red_cloak no longer posts here. It's as how Sol puts it "Its the same **** every day."

I also love those 360/PC games count as 360 exclusives threads, how can it be exclusive if it's on more than 1 system?:lol:

I haven't seen those threads in a long time, I only find it funny when someone only compares PS3 vs xbox 360 but excludes PC/xbox 360 titles because they aren't exclusive. I mean you are only comparing PS3 and xbox 360 it makes sense to add the PC/xbox 360 titles because you aren't comparing the PC in this argument. However I try to stay out of most list threads because the are almost always the same thing just a different poster.

I agree, you can in no way call them exclusive but you should still be able to include them in the PS3 vs xbox 360 threads. I am on there everyday at work but I probably skip them because the threads aren't interesting to me so I just don't notice them :P

Many of them will mod you but not count it agaist you. I have been modded a number of times without even a point loss. Which is cool because they are just saying hey this is not allowed. HarlockJC

Red Cloak, that guy was HILARIOUS. Then there were others like YellowRose,  who got kids and grew up, HDGuyBasic (Who is still around I hear), etc.

I remember Captain Planet quotes and that stuff. Last time I saw that was around May....3 years ago. I heard there was a Captain Planet union too and one of the mods deleted like 10 minutes after it was formed.

Also another thing: Where is the funny ? SW was full of funny stuff like the London, France fiasco and why aren't there anymore funny quotes like

Indeed.There were a bunch of really funny threads before.I recall this one thread regarding food; the opening post went something like "I saw food in the grocery store,so that means nobody is buying food," in response to the PS3 not selling.Many of the posts in that thread were so hilarious.
