Your favourite game ending?

My favourite game ending and antire game for that matter is Shadow of the Colossus. Most people hate ambiguous endings but with a game like that it works fantastic. I had a lot of mixed feelings by the end of it.

Im still waiting for that half life ending though. Fingers crossed :P

When I read the thread name Shadow of the Colossus was the first game that came to mind. Another ending that is one of my favorites is Final Fantasy X. Some people hate on it, but I felt it ended on such a bittersweet note that really did resonate for me. It was also one of the most complete endings in a FF game. Most FF games before it had horrible endings IMO. Too bad they ruined FFX's ending by taking it all back with FFX-2.

I thougt that Majora's Mask's ending was amazing. It has a motage of people Link helped on the way through his journey. (I love the part at Kafei's wedding.) I really liked how the Happy Mask Salesman looked at the mask, told you a few words of wisdom, then walked off, never to be seen again. (As far as we know.) Then, it shows the tunnel Link first traveled through with the twisted plant, and you see the Deku Butler kneeling in front of it, crying. You realize that it is his son's grave, and the Deku Mask is the manifestation of his son's soul, ruined by Majora's Mask. Then, in the final scene, it shows a carving of Link and Skull Kid holding hands, with Saria's Song playing on an Ocarina. An intensley emotional endin, and an unforgettable conclusion to the best game ever.

Runner ups include Knights in the Nightmare, Okami, Chrono Trigger, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker.

Uncharted 2 for one reason....We learned that Drake was afraid of clowns.

Ocarina of Time - just unforgettable.

BioShock 2 good ending - great, moving dialogue made this a satisfying ending.

Cryostasis - a great ending to a great story, saying anything about it would be spoiler-tastic, though.

I also enjoyed the ending to FFX. Not the usual stuff we find in FF. It didn't end all happy smiles and bunny rabbits. Sure they saved the world but the love story we saw blossom got cut short

The good endings for Bioshock and Bioshock 2.

Always brings a tear to my eye.

Kingdom Hearts 2. I guess I just felt really fulfilled and happy when I completed it.

Batman Arkham Asylum, it just setted itself up to a second title. Epic it was.

Deadly Premonition had amazing finale...

I also liked Metro 2033's ending - concise and to the point...

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2's ending was badass.

Braid's ending was fantastic. It's not so much that the twist was super original or anything, it's that it was so obvious, but you still never saw it coming.

In my opinion, games that purposley set up for a sequel aren't good endings. And MW2 definitley set up for a sequel. For me, a great ending has to tie up all the major conflicts and make it so the game doesn't necessarily have to be continued with a sequel.

I also loved the ending to Persona 4. I'm a fan of bittersweet endings.

Bioshock 1 and 2 has a great ending. Im also a fan of the half-life series, but who knows when that ending will come to light!

I actually liked the ending to FFX-2. Especially when you got the good ending. Made me feel happy :).

Vampire the Masqurade Bloodlines my fav of the 6 or so endings

Resident Evil 5, Heavy Rain, Singularity and Dead Space all stand out for me.

Oh this one is easy for me, it'd be any of the Kingdom Hearts endings, if I had to pick one I'd say KH2.

Blood Rayne 2 : Surprising ending where the heroine doesn't save the world, but instead settles for personal revenge as everything else goes to hell through a vampire apocalypse as the creatues of the night walk the Earth, unhindered by the sun which is now forever hidden behind a cloud of blood. It later shows the last few surviving humans who appear to be an advanced military organisation which have managed to keep things at bay with advanced weapons and armor.

If not that then Final Fantasy X, with it's touching Yuna speach ending with "Remember them" as she has flashbacks of the man she's lost. Awwww *hugs a teddy*

I'm going to have to go with MGS4's ending
