When I was 13 and had no money, I probably would have found a free game, as an adult with more money than I know what to do with, well I'll pay for my games.

Usually Id prefer to pay up front.

If the free mmo game is based on micro transactions, then I wont touch it.

The overall reasoning is: If someone makes something that I enjoy, I do want to pay for it, They put time and effort into making something so it would be unfair not to be compensated for it.

Unless the game is utterly broken, or just plain bad. Anyways I am not really a huge MMO fan since the monthly subscriptions, and updates that often needs to be bought.

But for the sake of the arguement, I would prefer a pricetag, then I wont feel as low as I would, by playing for free.

If the game with the pricetag, is on any game tho, and not just a MMO, then I would pick that in a heartbeat. atleast it would feel like I am supporting the industry behind my favorite hobby.

i want a free MMO, becuase i play them very infrequently. I dive in and love it and play every day for a couple of weeks, then leave it alone for a couple of months, then play it again. I don't play every month, so I don't want to pay every month. :)

I wouldn't want to pay a monthly subscription, as that alone is an incentive towards unhealthy addiction.

Pay because most free MMORPGs are horrible. I don't see why everyone gets upset at monthly fees. As long as it's a sane price, then it should be fine.

I save more money wasting quarters at an arcade...

That's not good.

I haven't found an mmo that I stick with for very long. I had 48 hours in two weeks on Perfect World about two years ago, but I haven't played it since. I started Mabinogi since I was studying the book for a class, but I haven't played it in over a year. I started Shaiya, but only played it for several hours one sitting. I can't stick with a game long enough to justify continually paying.

Word. I've tried different free MMORPG's and none of them had any lasting appeal except for one - Guild Wars. I'd rather invest a few dollars a month into a pay-to-play game if I felt I was getting my monies worth.

I haven't read or heard someone say that in like 10+ years. Anyway, I'd rather pay.

I'd rather pay. Only downside is that I sometimes feel like I NEED to play since I'm paying for it.

Seeing as WORLD OF TANKS is going to be FTP, I would say it depends entirel on the buisness model.

I'd wrather pay for a game because mmos always exclude you from all the good stuff if you don't pay for a membership. Perfect example: Runescape. I used to play it when I was younger.

I'd pay for it if it was a cool game. But I won't play it if I have to pay monthly for it or have to buy items online.

If I had a computer to run it, I would probably give Global Agenda a play. It's only $22 on Steam right now, and it's no longer p2p.

There wasn't much decent mmo that is free. Only one that i played for a while was Rohan but its not really free. Inorder to be good you have to pay tons of money for the cash items and that game took forever to grind. I would rather play up front for a game with no monthly because i dont have that much time to invest into a game that is worth the monthly fee

I think it's obvious most people would choose the free mmo since you didn't state any details about the games.

Pay for a game. I have learned I don't really like most free mmo's.

I have the Vindictus closed beta.. waiting for it to end because my characters gettin swiped anyways.

From what Ive played of it, Its alot better than some games Ive payed for. Very top notch stuff.

In all honesty, I'd rather save up and buy another figurine.

But.. from the two, I'd shell out money for a game than play one of those cheap excuses for a game.

I'd say it depends on the quality of the game.

Someone would have to PAY me to play any MMO, regardless if it's offered free or not. Seriously, I would not waste my time on WoW unless I was given a decent hourly wage. I can't for the life of me understand how some find games like that enjoyable. I'll pay for a game any day of the week.

In most cases I'd rather pay. I dont think Ive ever played a completely free MMO thats all that fun. Paid games are just higher quality obviously.

I have done and still doing both. I do pay for Eve Online, however I also do play Guild Wars and Everquest 2 Extended. I guess it all depends on the quality of the game.

Typically, I'd much rather pay for a good game than spend time with what could turn out to be a mediocre game.

Free if it gets updated regularly and gets stuff added every once in a while, otherwise payed.
