motocross.hmmm an uptodate road rash would be pretty cool
and more twisted metal ripoffs
vehicle combat is like a myth. lets explore it abit
vehicle combat is like a myth.almasdeathchildCombat Racing is definitely an ignored genre. I'd welcome an updated Road Rash, but I'd freakin' kill for a modern Rock N' Roll Racing. I swear, the best part about Rage was the buggy racing bits. I want an entire game of that, but expanded on, offering a wider range of vehicle types, upgrades, weapons, defenses, etc. Like Motorstorm meets Twisted Metal or something. Include multiple game types - from standard racing (with weapons, of course) to driving around an open environment collecting points to a smash 'em up demolition derby to a kill 'em all Twisted Metal-style mode - and offer splitscreen and LAN (with the option of splitscreen LAN that supports 4 players on two consoles) and that'd easily be a top choice party game. It's sad. First-person shooters these days tend to focus more on the competitive multiplayer aspect, to the point that the single-player campaigns seems almost half-assed throwaway modes, but nobody seems to be exploiting that same idea in a combat racing genre. Someone seriously needs to change that.

yyyesssss!!
Been so long since Road Rash made an appearance from EA, it'd be like a new franchise. But only if they concentrate on the fighting instead of the racing (which imo is why the last one failed).
a ninja stealth game like thief
sandbox rpg games like fallout/tes
more sci fi games like prey 2 or human revolution
RPG/JRPG's that have actual good stories, non whiny limp wristed protagonists, and a overworld map.

With game as long as JRPG, you get stuck with them or much worse those brooding character that whines about the past or hollow shell place holders.
Puzzle/Platformers. An example would be Tomb Raider
Spy, sneak, stealth, stalking, or assassination games. Examples:
Dishonoured
Assassins Creed 3
Hitman Absotuion

Not all the time. Take Breath of Fire, Dragonquest 8, FF7, Tales of the Abyss for example.I'd rather have a protagonist who doesn't speak than one who is a drama queen like in Star Ocean the Last Hope.
Adventure/mystery puzzlers or point & click -- like Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, etc.
I so enjoy the HELL outta those games! I only lament Cing (devs of Hotel Dusk series, among others) went under.....damn, why couldn't Nintendo have stepped up and picked up the rights on that?? :(
....and don't even get me started on Capcom & the AA series. STILL waiting on a localization of Ace Attorney Investigations 2....

I would call Jack from Mass Effect 2 that before Edge.
I like seeing character moments. Moments where the character are affected by the event in the game and not just continue on as it does not matter. The problem is those moments are while it seem many will choose to remember and call the character a whiner. With games as long as JRPG you will get those moments.
I find it hard to enjoy games with Silent protagonist as much. They just feel like they are not apart of the events in the game. They are still better than the brooding character or th hollow shell place holder in most WRPG.
