I'm on a PS3 games buying phase. What is your top ten? I came up with 7:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Red Dead Redemption
Killzone
Resistance 2
CoD Modern Warfare
Dragon's Crown
Zen Pinball

6. Devil May Cry 4
7. Ninja Gaiden Sigma
8. Metal Gear Rising
9. Dragons Dogma

I never really owned a PS3 so third party games will have to do for this gen.
Not in this order:
Honorable mentions: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5/2.5, Little Big Planet 2, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Pupeteer, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, & Dead Space 2.
In no order:
Wow people liked Dragon's Crown all that much? What?
While some will only know Dragon's Crown for dumb-critic backlash memes. Vanillaware is a well established and amazing developer (last game is 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim), Dragon's Crown vocally considered the developers finest work.
Dragon's Crown is a true successor to games like Golden Axe and Shadow over Mystara. Much like Castle Crashers; took the Beat em' Up genre modified it, polished it, and gave far more content to give those arcade coop sessions plenty to enjoy.
Continuing on that note the level of content is crazy when Labyrinth of Chaos and Tower of Mirage have 'seemingly' unlimited floors of randomly generated dungeons (included enemies and bosses exclusive to these challenge dungeon gauntlets).
The cross-play is also insane, all versions connect, someone could be on Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5 and all be playing in the same session (tested and know this for a fact). This is a console cross-play game before Fortnite and Rocket League existed.
@RSM-HQ: Don't remember the backlash Dragon's Crown got to be honest unless we're referring to the Sorceress & Amazon looks, even I don't remember anyone getting upset about it. I always compare Dragon's Crown to Odin's Sphere and Muramasa. That's just my opinion of course.

I don't recall backlash either. I do remember reviewers mentioning the questionable art/style but that's about it.

Backlash was probably too strong a word.
However recall a lot of heat from a media reporter called Jason Schreier, and an artist from Gearbox. It went as far as a petition being formed to 'alter the art of many Dragon's Crown characters' ultimately failed and was ignored (good).
A lot of places that reviewed the game from the US in particular seemed to have agreed with these vocal minority hottakes, and gave the game low to mediocre review scores on release, based on the art direction alone.
Didn't really give the game a fair chance, and that's sad. Which I think ultimately damaged the games reputation during release for many who might have otherwise been interested in the game. Overall not looking at a game for its qualities, and instead nitpicking on something very subjective seems unprofessional from these media 'journalists' or should I just call them Cancel-Culture-Zealots at this point?
George Kamitani made a few notes on this in the collectors art book for Dragon's Crown, and the spite the game received due to the noted art for Amazon and Sorceress in particular.
Age has mended a lot of the reputation for Dragon's Crown, like fine wine. Now that more people have given it a chance and realised it's a very good video game in an otherwise dead genre. Also something the above ignore is that the game has plenty of half naked men too, so the focus on Amazon and Sorceress was always strawman argumentation.
*Regardless, not the first game to be dismissed on looks alone, Demon's Souls anyone?

All Vanillaware but very different in how they play and are paced, both those games noted are inspired/ continuing the legacy of the studios earlier work_
More story experiences, jumping characters often, and come to a definitive conclusion. While Dragon's Crown is more focused on an arcade experience.
Both enjoyable at anycase. Especially the overhauled version of Odin; Leifthrasir. Muramasa is overdue a newer port though, would fit Switch like a glove!
