what game difficulty do you play your games at?

I play mostly on easy these days. Having a bunch of games that I havent finished yet. Playing them all on easy seems to be the best bet for me to finish them all. Plus im lazy.

I usually start on easy (depending on the type of game), and work my way up. However, racing games I usually start on a higher difficulty level because I'm pretty good at them.

I always start out on medium. Hard is reserved for my second playthrough if I want to do that. I hate playing on easy unless I absolutely have to (like if I can't go 5 seconds without dying on medium)

At least on normal. Some games I like to crank it up to hardest or whatever, but I never feel any enjoyment playing on easy.

Normal, except in the odd case where easy makes the game better (like Red Faction Guerrilla). Only time I play a game on hard is if I'm replaying it. Difficulty modes are almost always silly anyway, either using a health or damage multiplier for enemies or simply increasing their numbers or spawn rates. Plus, normal is (generally) balanced the best by the developer.

I usually start out on the medium difficulty, but lately I've been thinking of raising my game to another level...literally!

Used to play on easy alot, now I choose normal. Always bad to choose easy and just find out that you are breezing through the game.

For the first initial play through I almost always play on the default or normal difficulty. After that then I'll play on the other difficulties for various reason such as if I want the added challenge or I want to play again at a more relaxed pace or for achievement hunting.

For some games, you miss out on the story by playing easy, in ways such as the ending. I always play on normal.

Medium or hard depending on the game. I like being satisfied about defeating a difficulty enemy. Sometimes easy for JRPGs. It's very hard to play JRPGs one after the other.

I juggle between easy and normal. But I usually pick the easiest difficulty. I don't have the vast amounts of free time I had when I was a kid so I usually choose easy. So yeah...easy cheesy for me, and I'll go back and play on a harder difficulty if I really like the game.

Easy; if there is a setting easier than easy, like beginner, toddler, infant, or blondes only, then I pick that.

Usually hard. However, if the "hard" aspect is just making the game ridiculously cheap, I tone it down.

generally i start at normal.

but if i'm pressed for time i'll do it on easy. by 'pressed for time' i mean that like perhaps in 2 or 3 days in the future of starting to play i have to go away or be doing something important. In that case i just wanna enjoy the story.

That simply isn't true. For example, Halo plays best on heroic, IMO. On normal, the ai is dumbed down. Same deal with most fighting games. Uncharted, as well, plays much better on hard.

Medium difficulty. Then if I decide to go for the platinum, that usually requires a playthrough on the highest difficulty. For racing games I always turn all the assists off and crank up the AI to it's hardest difficulty.

Normal, or whatever the standard is. Unless there's some real design or gameplay changes with higher levels of difficulty (the a.i. in Halo, the a.i. and abilities in Crysis for example) then I don't see any reason to change it.

I usually start at normal because I don't want it to be too easy or difficult. I've started games on Hard before knowing they weren't too difficult on that level anyways. I've only finished a handful of games on difficulties above hard like Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 2, and Resident Evil 5, and that doesn't include games where "Hard" is the highest difficulty.

I always play on Easy because I don't want any frustrations to ruin how the fun the game is. Plus some games on easy aren't actually easy anyway.

Normal. Sometimes I'll switch it lower or higher if I'm having trouble or I'm looking for a challenge but normal is almost always fine.

I like to play on hard. Guess I think you get more satisfaction and sense of achievement from getting through a particularly difficult section or boss when playing on hard.

Sometimes you need to try different tactics or use certain weapons that you may have deemed useless on a easier setting, so for me it gets the most out a game if played on hard.

I first play games at Easy, then once I get used to the game-play, I will increase the difficulty to Normal, then Hard. I do so in games like Mario Kart DS and Kid Icarus: Uprising (games which I have played for long sessions).

Normal. It makes me feel as if that was the way the developers intended it to be played. If I like it enough, I might try the harder difficulties later on.

If it's an FPS or Gears of War, usually the hardest possible. Everything else I generally play on normal when I play it for the first time, But I'll usually go back and beat them on a harder difficulty later.

Usuallly I start on the Hardest unless.

  • It needs to be unlocked
  • I just want to relax and not worry about imminate death
  • If its Devil May Cry 4 (I suck at that game>.>)
  • Or its so hard to th point, where id be a better idea to get a idea of what to do on an eaier playthrough, then crank it up.
