The Shenmue franchise is one of the best video game franchises ever made. The first Shenmue was released in December 29,1999 for Sega Dreamcast (the final console made by Sega) and the second Shenmue was released in September 6, 2001 for Sega Dreamcast and Xbox. It was known as an action-adventure game. This game is about Ryo Hazuki who is a teenage martial artist who travels through the 1980s era of Japan and China to find the one who killed his father.

The remaster of these two games were confirmed by Sega. I haven't played this game in my entire life because I never had a Sega Dreamcast but I think this game will be better in terms of graphical enhancement and updated UI, HUD, and whatsoever. Other than that, let's hope for the best in these two games.

Let us wait for the release and hope that the system requirements of these two games will run well even on the low-end systems.

Happy gaming!

This is a really good idea because I’m not holding out much hope for Shenmue 3.

It should fix the biggest problem with those games: loading. . . and the low res textures and the original resolution wasn’t really sufficient for the amount of detail in some scenes such as pigeon square.

Never played Shenmue, only heard of it. After watching the trailer I am tempted to get it.

Excited. Big fan of the series.

Playing on PC, two potential issues : Will the game be properly ported? Will the pricing be reasonable?

If so, will buy.

Looking forward to it. Never got to play them on the DC and they’re the type of game everyone should experience - whether they like them or not.

I still think Shenmue 3 will be cancelled or vaporware, but if we can get the other two on PC, then at least something good will have come out of it.

It would be nice if it was a full remaster along the lines of Shadow of Colossus but the games themselves (mainly the first) were ahead of their time.

If the graphics are completely redone I might think of it. Otherwise I'll just break out the Dreamcast and play them in their original glory.

They were way ahead of their time. I'd happily get the remasters because I definitely no longer have a Dreamcast lol

I've heard so much praise for Shenmue over the years... I'd love to give it a go.

I think everyone is looking at Shenmue thru rose-colored glasses. Fond memories, but misremembering how the games actually looked and played which by todays standards are atrocious. It's good to take a trip down memory lane, but I have a feeling that many of you are going to be upset at how outdated these games are because they have not aged well.
