What's yours?

I can remember plenty so it's hard to pick one out, Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts was a pain in the ass, not to mention the unbelievable confusion that met me when fighting Psycho Mantis in MGS. Oh and the Elite Four in the Pokemon series were annoying as hell when I was a kid; not so much now.

-The final level in Ninja Gaiden has bested me for nearly 15 years, specifically the final boss...so that one.

-Any time the little kids open their mouths in Lost Odyssey.

-Escorting the president's daughter in Resident Evil 4; nevermind, change that one to every escort mission ever programmed in any game ever.

-Password systems in NES games requiring more than 4 digits. NES games requiring passwords...

-Swimming/Water levels in numerous platforming games; examples: Donkey Country and Super Mario Bros.

That's just a few, but that was a fun thing to think about.

Jak II - The turret level, on Hero mode, is almost freaking impossible! Dammit, I never got through it on Hero mode yet, and even on Normal it's hard as hell :x GTA San Andreas - That mission at the abandoned air strip, where we take this old plane to the country side but have to fly low so the radar doesn't detect us, and it's timed so it isn't as easy as just going over the sea for most of the mission. I remember the first time I played that mission, I didn't have internet so not cheats at the time, and I had just started the whole plane thing in GTA, damn, I retried that mission a truck load of times. Red Ninja - That damn temple level or whatever that was, where we have to jump some stupid platforms to get on top of the Buddah statue, so many platforms + so bad controls = so damn annoying.

The swimming/bob difusing level in the original NES TMNT was the first thing that sprung to mind when I read the thread title.

Wind Tunnel, Battletoads - That's a good example how an unfair level can ruin the entire game

Control, Goldeneye 64 - The part of that mission where you protect Natalya by incoming guards....... I HATE IT

Second last level in Final Fight 3 - F*** YOU Stray

Night Watch mission from - The World Is Not Enough for n64 - I hate sneaking missions because if you get caught, your finished and mission fail, and the fact that Gabor is lurking around every corner and you never know where he is (random placement of him) drives me crazy, I had to use my own instincts in this game, I mean I followed the guide for this is mission and it still led me to a failure, so I went with my own survival techniques. GTA games, I despise any mission with those FREAKIN RC TOYS!!!! it makes me want to rip my hair out because of the frustration they cause and the fact the controls fail miserably when flying an RC plane makes you want to go nuts and that mission that a poster referred to that you have to dive below the radar and such, I didn't think it was that hard as it only took me two times to beat :)

Any game that has a required boss Rush level. It kills the pacing, although they still aren't bad. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite games, Viewtiful Joe, employs this level. That's really the only level I didn't love.

I remember hating the 2nd race in the countryside on GTA San Andreas quite a bit, they tried to fool you by giving you a very fast car, but put you on a course where it was full of twists and turns , along with ground thats less than stable.

Yorda preferring to dawdle around while she is being called. Or walking off a switch just as you are about to enter a doorway. Especially when attempting a speed run. Ico.

Escort Missions, I F*CKING HATE escort missions. Natalya in Goldeneye, random NPCs in Morrowind, the list goes on. You know how a game seems way too simple for you, then you just start an escort mission and all the enemies damage rate seems to go up, their aim gets better, and your escortee has the intelligence of an inbred dumbass who thinks they are invincible when all it takes it a slight nudge to kill them. They don't hide, they run into your bullets, they always seem to find their way to the on NPC you managed to overlook. I hate you, escort missions, even more than Sonic 06.

I never beat that mission without cheats, that's the one that after the race she gives you an abandoned garage in San Fiero, right? Yeah, I always use indestructable car so I can blow up all other cards and go slowly, because that car sucks in the track we do in that race.

well , its not that bad, the other cars aren't that fast, its just being careful on the track itself.

Fighting Alpha-152 (the boss character) in Dead or Alive 4. Not so much in Story Mode (although she is a pain in that too), but when you are required to fight her in Arcade Mode with every characterto unlock everything and to beat her in no less than a two round fight.

In normal mode, she seems to be programmed to automatically grapple your every move, even though the engine has been deliberately tweaked since previous games to make grappling harder for human players). Actually, it probably has the best fighting engine of any Dead or Alive game, but I've never known AI to hate human beings that much and one Gamespot user review summed it up very well. Avoid if quick to anger.

My most annoying missions by rank that I can remember 1. The Clocktower II (playstation) Every "mission" was annoying because of that dang child stabbing me over and over. 2. Grandia III (playstation 2) Battling Zorn, took way too much thought and effort and was still overtly time consuming 3. Chrono Cross (playstation) Battling end boss, who's name I can't remember took tooooo loooong.

The knife fight in Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. That took me forever.

The final boss fight in Zeno Clash. Talk about a difficulty spike.

Half-Life 2. The entire City 17 section later in the game. Especially the yawn-inducing Stryder fights that took forever.

Goldeneye. The infamous part where you have to defend Natalya while she's trying to hack something.

Metropolis Zone in Sonic 2 really grinds my gears beacuse of the ridiculous enemy placements.

The final mission on Halo: Reach Legendary by myself made me nearly tear my hair out. Took me way over 2 hours to do it.

The werehog stages in Sonic Unleashed. Nothing needs to be said about them, they just suck.

Trying to actually navigate the map in Far Cry 2 was just a joke. Your car keeps breaking down and enemies appear out of nowhere.

A couple of missions in Socom US Navy Seals

The mission where you had to rescue and escort a guy named Mr. Pickle

Another mission where you had to locate a Nuke and disarm it.

What a pain in the Culo.
