So I really really wanna play RDD2 but don't wanna buy a current gen console. What do I do?

I'm probably setting myself up for some roasting here and that's okay, but are there places where you can rent a current gen console from just for the weekend? What about videogame streaming services I can use a free 30 day trial for that will have Red Dead Redemption 2 when it comes out? Any special apps or stores I don't know about?

The thing is I've not played any video games since Dragon Age Inquisition came out. My original plan was to just skip this generation of consoles altogether since they're evolving so slowly now anyways, and that I might be more impressed with whatever consoles come out next with my Xbox 360 having been the most current console I've seen or played (also I'll be too old by then to keep chasing my music dreams so I'll have time to play videogames again!)

But then I heard that Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally coming out, I decided to make an exception with this game and only this game. So it feels like it would be a waste of money to buy a current gen console (but **** it, I'll do if I have to).

So what do I do?

@sinisterplague: buy the game and borrow a console off a friend, making a deal you'll give them the game when you're done. easy

@Macutchi: That was my first idea. Turns out /nobody/ I know has a current gen console other than one person who would never part with it long enough for me to complete that whole game.

In case it wasn't clear, my whole reason for not buying a new console is I don't have /time/ to regularly play videogames anymore, not because I don't think there are other games worth playing. Hence why I'm posting this 4 months before the game is even out, I need to plan this session in advance.

you could buy a 2nd hand one the og x1 sells for 150 aud here and ps4 for 200, then resell when your done playing.

Just had my sixth playthrough on a recent Indie treasure called Curse of the Moon, which is a stretch goal towards a Kickstarter game I (along with a few awesome people) Backed.

I'm sure such a small budget Indie game wouldn't capture your limited interest.

Some of us can appreciate all kinds of games. Indie or no, while you however. Clearly can't.

I'm a PC gamer, and I've done option 2 a few times when a system had one or a handful of games I wanted to play. I really wish companies would just put everything out on PC. Consoles are a waste of money and tend to turn into dust collectors, unlike PC which I will use every day for all kinds of things besides gaming.

I have a high level of confidence that I have more experience with a larger variety of types of games then you do.

Buy the console and the game. If you really dont want the console anymore, join your local facebook/community group and sell the console there after you finished red dead redemption.
