Shenmue 3 needs your help

Hello everyone,

I represent the Shenmue community across various outlets. Please be aware that the current state of the Shenmue 3 kickstarter, despite breaking records for being funded to 2 million so quickly, is far from over.

Many click-bait articles from various places such as Kotaku and the like which work off clicks for money are claiming Sony are bankrolling Shenmue 3, that Sony is meeting the funding demands of Yu Suzuki and his small team.

This is absolutely FALSE. Do not trust these baseless claims. Yu Suzuki has now stated multiple times that the majority of funds are coming directly from the Kickstarter and the overall quality of the game hinges on it's fate.

This is just the most recent example Yu Suzuki just confirmed for us via Reddit AMA about the importance of the Kickstarter.

I'm with you man! I'm in at $300 & really hope we can do everything possible to reach other Shenmue fans out there that haven't heard or had chance to pledge yet.

I don't see it hitting $10 million unfortunately, $5-6 million seems more realistic.

There's no question, it's gonna be a stretch. A big stretch, but I we've gotta fight for it :)

I'm just bumping this up because I know it deserves to be at the top of the page.

I never played the first two, but I pledged because of what this means to the gaming community as a whole. Actually, the biggest reasons I pledged is because of Michael Huber, but the implications is a good reason too.

I want this game to happen as much as anyone, but that doesn't change Gamespot's rules regarding advertising so I'll have to lock this.
