GOing back to the PS1 those who played this game. What did ya think of it. I loved it. Yes it did have its share of flaws but it was still a pretty decent RPG.
It was fun, the only complaint I had about it was the screen took forever to load from walking around to the battles. The battles were fun once you got into them but the screen unfolding down or whatever it did was kinda lame.
The graphics are pretty bad for the time, it was in production for 3 years, came out a year after Final Fantasy VIII and barely looked any better than Final Fantasy VII.. the story was ehh... and the battle system gets old as hell after a few hours. It's not a BAD game, I enjoyed it, but it's not great
I thought it was amazing. The story was pretty good and I really like the music. For an RPG on the PS1 it looked damn good, better than FFVII and FFVIII that's for sure. The addition system could be addicting but annoying at times as well. I'm lucky that I got it because I bought it by chance. I had some birthday money and I could pick a game and that was the only one that looked decent to me, and I only judged it from the cover.
Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I never cared for Legend of Dragoon. I thought the story was a little bland in the beginning which then gained momentum as the game furthered along. The combat system was unique and different but the only complaint I had was the whole counter-attack thing. I think the first time you get to use it is during the boss fight when the main character finally unleashes his dragon powers. For the life of me, I could not counter-attack. Hmm... perhaps it was counter-defend. It's been years since I played the game so my memory is a little hazey. While I must admit it turned out to be a good game as it neared the final discs, it wasn't my cup of tea. I was having too much fun playing FFVIII.
Besides, I thought it was really sad only to have voicwork during the CG cutscenes. It was like a tease that they could have had full actors for the game... it was published by SONY afterall. Then again, it was probably for the best not to have voicework.
This was a great game, the characters were fun and cool especially Dart and is his Volcano and double slash additions HAHAHAHA sweet, those were the days back in 2000.
Great game for sure. I still make fun of Lloyd, haha. Missed, missed, over here, ahhhhhhhh... dead. Classic that, so cocky taunting the final boss and BOOM he's dead.
i loved this game when it first came out.i was never really into rpgs until i played it.i picked up a copy of it a couple years ago from gamestop but after i put disk 2 in the game doesnt read which sux cuz i wanted to beat it again.im still mad that lavitz dies
i remember it being really good when i played it years back, even though towards the end it became kind of dissapointing with the having to switch discs to go back to old locations and such :/
