Oblivion 2 maybe coming in 2010

Bethesda Softworks, creators of The Elder Scrolls RPG series (The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) and more recently Fallout 3, have said in a recent interview that "Oblivion 2″ AKA "The Elder Scrolls V" will be released in 2010.

Paul Oughton, Bethesda publishing executive, had this to say: "At the moment we've got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there's a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010. At the moment we're not that interested in the Wii. We're going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We'll continue to pursue three or four titles a year and go for big titles," he told GI.biz about the company's publishing plans for the future.

Last month Bethesda also indicated they wish to release Fallout 4 by 2011.

YES, this is going to be awesome, but I hope they don't call it oblivion 2.

i want to see fable 3 instead of oblivion 2.

I hope they learned from their mistakes, and don't make it like oblivion 2 (I don't care about the name). By that I mean don't stay in the same area too much and do the same kind of storyline.

Of course I want them to fix the leveling issues. The way it was in oblivion was really lame. If you're not focusing on minor skills, that should be a good thing not a bad thing. Also I'd like them to have a small distance between levels. Let's say you're level 4, and the enemy is level 8, then you should have a chance if you combine your skills well and fight well. In the same way that a level 10 enemy can pose a threat to your level 15 guy if you're slacking.

Also radiant AI sounds great. It would be awesome if they could put it into the next ES.

Someone should warn videogamesblogger to stop fabricating ludacris game titles such as Oblivion 2 because they're only making idiots of themselves. Oblivion 2 aka The Elder Scrolls V...:lol:

Incredibly lame. Just the fact they are already calling it "Oblivion 2" is enough for me to recommend everyone I know to not get this crap.GodLovesDead

I hope they get some more writers on board for the 5th, some of Oblivion were very stale...

In my opinion one of these days they ought to just make a Elder Scrolls that takes place throughout the entirety of Tamriel.

We're talkin' everything. I predict if they did go this route though, it'd most likely be a full scale MMO. I'm not entirely sure though if the series is ready for that yet.

As far as ES:V goes though, I really hope it's going to be in a region we haven't seen.

i would like to see a new setting for ES:V. i hope they keep many elements from IV.

if its called oblivion 2 then they are seriosly slipping into supidity.

1. they might be ddoing fallout 4 before oblivion 2 or TES5 whitch is what it should be called

2. now there gonna bring it out just 2 years into production.

3. there only going to spend 1 year on fallout 4

the games will be empty and poor quality. an thus will run them self into the ground.

Good artistry can go a long way. In my view morrowind is "graphically" better than Oblivion although technically its not. This impression is because the creativity of the world and music is much better.

From what I have seen on DarkFall this also seems to be the case, the graphics technically are not better than most MMO's out now but the detail and artistry seems subtlety better.

I hope that Oblivion 5 dosen't come before 1011 or 1012 because good games take time :D does anyone know how long theyve planned it ? like 100-300 playing hours? its probably to early to tell, butt Oblivion is one of the most intresting game series ever made :)

Hopefully, Bethesda will fix it's abysmal practice of making poor versions of their games for the PS3. I loved Oblivion, LOVED IT, but after all the bugs in Fallout 3 and how Bethesda showed zero concern for screwing PS3 gamers out of any extra content, I'm not going to be buying this unless their attitude changes big time. Bethesda seems happy enough to take the money PS3 gamers shell out for the game itself, but seems to feel no guilt or remorse about short changing them in such a stupid manner. Exclusive content is one thing, but releasing an inferior version on one console and expecting people like me to keep buying their games is foolish.

And i know it is in Skyrim, becaue bethesda has already trademarked it

I think it has been in production since the release of Oblivion

I hope it comes next year, oblivion was great but needed improvement, im intrested to see what they can come up with this time around

I agree. If my memory serves me correct, wasn't Oblivion itself put into production immediately after the release of Morrowind? (Or shortly before the release even.) If so, then I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did the same with ES:V which would mean they've been working on it already for almost 3 years.

as long as they make the game like morrowind(i personally like morrowind better than oblivion)with better graphics like oblivion, then it would be the best ever. i kind of hope it will be an mmo of the whole map/world.
