Hey everyone,

I was wondering where you guys thought the next Fallout game should take place (it would be cool if you explained why). I have a couple options that I think would be fantastic for a Fallout game.

Detroit, MI: One of the most well known cities in America (Also, not to far from where I live), the city has so many unique places and a lot of cool buildings (GMC anyone), that I am sure there would be boatloads to explore and it would be very enjoyable. (A good expasion for it would be Chicago)

New Orleans, LA: This city is so full of culture that it would have a billion things to explore. There could be plenty of movie references (Vampires anyone?), a great body of water to explore, and it would be a wonderful place to explore in a Fallout universe. A great expansion for Fallout: New Orleans could be Baton Rouge or Bon Temps.

Overall, I think New Orleans would be the best bet for a new Fallout game, what do you guys think it should be and why?

Have you been to Detroit lately? It already looks like the capital wasteland from FO3. :D

Honestly I would like to see a Fallout game that takes place outside the USA. Seeing how devistated places with a lot of culture and/or history like Italy, France, or Japan are would be interesting.

A Fallout in Russia could be interesting, maybe at New England.

I know this one isn't very original, but I think a New York setting would be amazing. There would be so much to do. I also wouldn't mind something like London or somewhere other than the US.

The Fallout universe is mostly based on American pop culture and American 1950s themes, so it wouldn't work in other countries (and even if Fallout 4 was set overseas, there'd be no familiar enemies or factions, so what's the point?). Anyway, I'd like to see the next game set back in California, or close enough to continue the saga of Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas. Maybe they could put it in the Salt Lake City setting that Black Isle's Fallout 3 was supposed to use.

Somewhere not in the US would be nice. London, Manchester if going for the UK, maybe or somewhere in mainland Europe? Somewhere where video games don't usually go, to mix things up.

It should be set in the medieval period, feature daedric shrines, medieval armor and weapons, and various species including those that resemble lions ans lizards...

I don't care where they set it as long as they bag that engine and build the game over from the bottom up. I am not going to submit myself to another ridiculously buggy game, no matter how much I love the Fallout series or how much I want to play it.

I want to see an oceanic setting...remote islands, cruise ships, military craft, etc. It's a great setting for ongoing wars, extraordinary potential for exploration, and relevance to many key figures/events in history.

Definitely New York City... Id love an all urban fallout environment.

I know that Bethesda usually makes open terrain, but it wouldn't hurt to try something new.

Los Angeles. Imagine walking down the boulevard street and then get attacked by a gang dressed in Hollywood costumes such as a gorilla suit or a mixture of a pirate and torn police costume.

This, I feel that the fact Fallout has never said or shown what happened to the other side of the Pacific, or even how Europe was affected by the US-China clash, makes the Fallout universe somewhat lacking

I'm guessing it'll be a while before another full Fallout game is released, my guess is they'll be working on the next Elder Scrolls game, and some New Vegas DLC in the meantime.

I am surprised nobody has said China? After all, the nuclear war was in fact between USA and China, so how about we explore what happened to China after the war? There are several notable missions/references in Fallout 3/Point Lookout DLC/Operation Anchorage that makes me think that Fallout China (or otherwise "How is the other country envolved in the nuclear war doing?") would indeed be a worthy setting. Think about Chinese Ghouls (similar to the ones in the Tacoma Industrial zone in Fallout 3) or Chinese SuperMutants...

p.s Oops, somebody has posted a comment about China already so i can just support their opinion.

The best place would be somewhere like Alaska, where they could focus on issues like a dwindling oil supply, and players would have to deal with some sort of frost gauge rather than radiation...As I was thinking it could take place right before the nuclear winter occurred. They could call it, Fallout: Cold War. That's my serious idea.

London or New York City. Something that has a bunch of well known land marks & buildings that you can go inside. I enjoyed being able to go into buildings that you normally wouldn't be able to IRL. That is something that F:NV lacks IMO. The Casinos are pretty cool but they just don't give me the same satisfaction as killing supermutants in the Capitol Building.

Fallout: Niagara. It would have Niagara Falls, Canada(southern Ontario), Buffalo, Cable cars, the underground railroad, old forts, steel mills, an indian reservation, 12 nike missle silos spread over the region.

Kind of an odd choice, but Fallout: Sin-sea. Where Cincinatti has become a drug/slaver/evil mad scientist haven. I don't live there, but I have been quite a few times. The whole town has a kind of 1940s 1950s art deco look to it and a lot of industrial areas as well. All it needs is a bomb or two dropped on it and you would have Fallout.

I third Fallout Orlando... I would love to see it set at a large theme park and aligator farms.
