the ones known as super mario advance 1 2 3 4 etc on the gba

, are what im basically talkin about , not the smb series but the other one in clud ed in the games above

Super mario land 1 for the Game Boy Pocket wasn't the best but I also wasn't a huge fan of Super Mario 2. The US one where you throw eggs and shy guys and stuff. That game was very slow and unrewarding.

Probably the Philips CD-I and educational games that featured Mario, and the persistence of Mario Party.

Even though I hate the Mario Party games as I can't the board game theme I'm going to have to go with Mario 64 DS I thought the controls were awful Mario 64 is better with a analog stick using the D-pad or touch screen just made it even more hard. My favorite Mario game is Super Mario Bros 3 the SNES version of Super Mario All-Stars.

Of the main platformer series... I'd say Super Mario galaxy. It's still great, just not nearly as awesome as the rest of his games. Hard to pinpoint exactly why though... But when I play I keep finding lots of little things I don't like as much.

You've got to be kidding. That is STILL one of the greatest games ever made. Not counting the educational games and not counting the CD-i entries, like the OP said, I'd say that Mario and Sonic at The Olympic Games was the worst. I hate mini-games.

Mario's Time Machine I think. Even if you take the game as for what it is and try to figure it out, it doesn't seem to make any sense at all, you could be chasing your tail for hours and won't get anywhere. It's just.. Not Mario material.

I've only played Mario Party 1 through 5, and all of them are incredibly competitive/enjoyable/addictive games when playing with friends. They seem like childish-friendly games on the outside, but theyre really strategic and grueling to point you want to kill the people youre playing with when they decide to betray you in-game and steal coins/stars. I would like to play all of the other MP games, but don't care enough to go out and get them..... I don't understand all of the Mario Party hate in this thread

The only correct answers are Super Mario 64 DS(64 version is sweet) or that one released for the wii--New Play Control Super Mario Bros, I believe it was called.

To be completely honest, I dislike MOST of the mario games.

The only Mario games I actually like are the RPG types:

  • Paper Mario (N64)
  • Mario RPG 7 Stars (SNES)
  • Paper Mario Thousand Year Door (NGC)

most of the other mario games are generic drivel IMHO

Probably Mario 64 or Sunshine. I'm weird because despite playing all the 3D Mario games multiple times, I've never enjoyed them.

And I also hate the mini games especially since wii makes so many:x

Super Mario 64. I don't care if I sound crazy. Besides a couple people here mentioned it also. Not gonna go into why. If you wanna know read my review through the link in my sig or here on GS.

Generally though I love Mario games. The older and 2D ones more. Didn't like 64 or Sunshine. Played a bit of Galaxy 1 and liked it so Ive thought about maybe getting that and Galaxy 2 one day.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is the the greatest Mario ever and imo the greatest game ever.

I have yet to play a Mario game I didn't enjoy, with that being said, I'm not really thrilled with the actual franchise still being up and running, guess I got tired of Nintendo serving us the same game with little to no changes.

You know, when Sunshine first came out--and even upon completing the game--it still felt like a disappointment after mario 64, for me as well. However, I suggest playing it again, because I just did so last year, and the game is incredibly underrated. I think you may enjoy it more now. Dang Mario 64.

And to the person that stated Mario 64 as the worst mario game. You are WRONG! In fact, I went as far as reading your review of the game and a lot of the problems you have with the game--marioesque gameplay that is missing--are present in the game. Mario 64 is a work of art.

I grew to resent and hate the Yoshi's Island games. Sure, many of the mechanics were rather good for pushing the 2D platforming and the like. Except there's one problem that makes me still hate it.. that. incessant. crying. from baby mario. It's even worse than the laughing dog from Duck Hunt.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (U.S.) and Super Mario Sunshine simply suffer from being different. They aren't your average Mario adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom. So it turns a lot of people off that are looking for that classic Mario they know and love. But both games are still awesome games in their own right. They aren't the pieces of crap that say Hotel Mario or Mario is Missing are. Nintendo should have released both games, without Mario characters, and launched all new franchises.

If you don't include those, then Mario doesn't have a "fail". Simple as that. We're not exactly talking about Sonic the Hedgehog or Crash Bandicoot here.

Super Mario Bros 3, easily.

The first two? Great. The successors after it? Great. This one? Yuck.

thattotally

It's arguably the best one in the entire series. In fact it revolutionized the series. You my friend must be joking.

Here's the list of the mainstay titles. Not included are games such as Dr. Mario, CDi Mario Games, Mario Party, Mario Sports, Mario Kart, Mario RPG, and Paper Mario.

1. Super Mario Bros Arcade

2. Super Mario Bros NES

3. Super Mario Bros 2 USA NES

4. Super Mario Bros 2 Lost Levels (Japan) NES

5. Super Mario Bros 3 NES

6. Super Mario World SNES

7. Super Mario Land Gameboy

8. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins Gameboy

9. Super Mario 64

10. Super Mario Sunshine

11. Super Mario Galaxy

12. Super Mario Galaxy 2

13. New Super Mario Bros DS

14. New Super Mario Bros Wii

15. Mario Clash Virtual Boy

Out of all of these I would say that I least liked Super Mario Land. It some innovative levels such as the space ship and submarine, but I least like that game. Otherwise, NSMB DS I wasn't a big fan of either.

Super Mario Galaxy is probably my least favorite. While it was very good, it was just way too easy for me.
