Smell-o-vision, eh? Yeah, I don't see that catching on. I don't think anyone would want to smell the types of things they see in games, especially the more gruesome ones.
This is mildly interesting, but even if this were sold commercially at a reasonable price, which it won't, I doubt many developers would even want to utilise it.
The first thing that popped into my head was the view you always got of Lara Croft from behind when she is crawling through a tight space , but yeah horror games would be pretty nasty.

No kidding. It would make some of the most popular games, like Amnesia, Dragon Age, Resident Evil, the most hated games by far. Can you imagine the stink of Amnesia? YUCK!
"Dead Space 5... had walked into the room where I heard the flies buzzing, I could smell the stench down the corridor but when I walked into the room and saw the blood and meaty chunks and bowels from the corpses that have been rotting for god knows how long, I had to reach for bucket I kept close by which was already half full to begin with... 9.5/10"or what about more of those fun to hear video game lawsuits that could arise...
"Paris Hilton filed a lawsuit in court against video game developers Rockstar because of a unique fragrance used in their game, her own line of perfume, Siren, players smell this unique imitation of the fragrance when the protagonist visits a crackhouse/brothel at some point of the game in GTA VII... she's asking for $200 million in damages"
