Last gen must have games

I'm still stuck in 7th gen playing catch up. What games would you recommend experiencing that really stood out to you last gen?

What consoles do you have?

I'm on PS3.

Ok, i bought and played a crap ton of PS3 games at my collegue's place, here's what i highly recommend:

• Ninja Gaiden Sigma (not as balanced as Ninja Gaiden Black, but still an incredible game)

You should most definitely check out:

Anything with Forza in the title will serve you well. Also:

My personal favorites of the PS3/X360 Generation

1. Mass Effect series (you can't get the first one on PS3, but it does have some type of interactive coming you can do in the second one)

2. Gears of War series (again, you'll need a 360 for this)

3. Oblivion / Fallout 3/ Skyrim (I lump them together because they are all massive open-world rpg's made by Bethesda, and each one is fantastic)

4. Bioshock series

5. The Orange Box / Portal 2 (portal 1 is included on the orange box)

6. Dragon Age: Origins

(If you don't play anything else this generation, play those)

Hitman Absolution

Dead Space

Dishonored

Deus Ex Human Revolution

Infamous

Dead Island

Splinter Cell Blacklist

So your asking what games in the 8year period that is great?

There are simply too many to mention but a few is

RDR, Bully, Heavy Rain, The last of us, Beyond, Uncharted, Halo, Killzone, Gears of War, and a ton of other titles.

@Jacanuk: Exactly, I'm going to be gaming on PS3 for a while once I upgrade the HD. I can't even see the 'all time' ranking for games on this site anymore since the new layout, unless they removed it from the sorting options.

No plans for next gen until the 1st few waves of consoles pass the technical hiccups and games I'm actually interested in are released. As far as next gen launch games, I would pay no more than $20 to play.
