I've only played the one for the Xbox, and I didn't like it. The 3D style was very contrived, and it was trying too hard to be "cool".

I played the original back in the 90's. To me, It's a "love or hate" type of game, some people liked it, others didn't. I thought it was entertaining, try it out and see if you like it.

From what I remember about playing them, you just ran around collecting this on this giant flat map lol. I dont remember a story or being able to fight. If it took 5 bucks to play then it might be worth it but not a penny over that. I assume this is one a "virtual console" or something on the Wii or Xbox or something??

Oh hey!!!!!!!!!!!! When you want to see games in action goto youtube dude. I bet there are some vids for it on there and you can check it out yourself.

I played Toe Jam and Earl 2 as a kid. it was awesome have it on VC. If you like 2D platformers then you should try it. I never played the first one though.

Best played with a friend, otherwise, don't bother.

The second one is a blast to play co-op.

I love the original from the Genesis days, but I think it is one of those titles that you will only like today if you knew it back then. I didn't care for the sequel and the Xbox title was a huge letdown.

The original Toejam and Earl was one of my favorite games for the Genesis. Panic on Funkatron and the XBOX sequel weren't very interesting (though they were acceptably enjoyable, but not much more). Like someone else said, it's best played with a friend.

I played the original one on the genesis with my dad, in co-op it is great fun.
