In your opinion, what's the best Zombie games you enjoy playing?

Some people may say that the Zombie genre is getting overrated, too much this that but for me, I enjoy playing just about any Zombie games that's out there for me to kill and most of all, fun gameplay. These are the best Zombie games I totally had fun playing:

• Dying Light
• Dead Island/Riptide
• Resident Evil [Gamecube]
• Resident Evil: Revaluations
• The Last of Us [it's mostly consider a Zombie game]
• ZombiU
• Left 4 Dead 2

These are my Zombie games that I enjoy, so what about you?

I think zombies are pretty "meh" in general, but I enjoy playing these games:

• House of the Dead 2
• Typing of the Dead
• Killing Floor

Telltales Walking Dead S1 for story.

State of Decay for gameplay.

The Last of Us for both.

Resident Evil 4 - This game has the perfect mix of action and survival horror, in my opinion. No other game has been able to duplicate that perfect balance like this one.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors - One of my favorite games since I was a kid. My friend and I usually replay it every year around Halloween time. I love the humor, I love the excellent co-op, I love how it spoofs every horror movie character you could imagine, and I love how it is so simple to pick-up-and-play yet presents an increasingly difficult challenge as you get further into the game.

The Last of Us definitely.

Dead Rising is my favourite with Dead Rising 3 being the best. The Resident Evil games closely follow.

Dead Rising was great until they turned it into Dynasty Warriors. But originally when you had to actually find survivors instead of having the game tell you where they were, or when going out at night was actually a risky proposition. When you had to fight your way through hordes with survivors in tow and you had no clue how many were gonna actually make it back alive....yeah, that was good times. The last two games were terrible, though. Series is dead, imo.

I think i would pick the original resident evils, when zombies were still fresh. We're kinda retreading old territory anymore. I do love some L4D, though. That series has always had a lot of untapped potential.

Resident Evil 2 as it improved Resident Evil in every area, with two different main campaign's, hardcore mini campaigns a compelling story, likeable protagonists, great antagonist's, terrificly conceived art direction and a cracking music score.

All in all it's everything you could want from a sequel and arguably the best PlayStation era title. A classic.

Dying Light's a kook, but it'd have to go to TLoU.

how come nobody mentioned Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare? it was soooooooooo much fun

As much as I played the Hell out of Red Dead Redemption on PS3, I didn't get a chance to play any of the MP modes, including the Undead Nightmare edition cause I just wasn't interested playing the MP to begin with, so I cannot comment on that part.

I'm a big fan of the original L4D, more so than 2. Only other zombies I play is CoD Zombies, but not very often.

So you skipped out on single player story DLC because you don't like multplayer?

@spike6958: I kinda made a typo on my part. I was so invested in the single player, I just never bother playing the MP, never said I don't like MP, just didn't bother playing MP.

Resident Evil 4/6, 6 gets a lot of shit but I find it extremely satisfying as far as combat goes.

@davillain-: Came here to mention Deadlight. I'm already sold on their next game: Rime.

Haven't had the internet for multiplayer games.

So with that in mind, probably resident evil 2 and decision 2.

I love zombie games in general, but I really enjoy ones that don't take themselves seriously, like Dead Rising. For ones that do, I really enjoyed Dying Light and of course, the often overlooked ZombiU. It's a shame that not enough gamers bought a Wii U to play it, because aside from the monotonous melee, it was a pretty solid zombie game.

I think it's only on Steam, but it's a really fun top down zombie shooter.

Loved TLOU and classic RE. If you are looking for a decent online experience check out 7 Days to Die - it has come a LONG way since it first became available for alpha play. It's a good example of how developers can do that pricing model right. They regularly and substantially improve it.

Its big Pros: solid crafting/mining/resource management system, really fun to band up with some friends to fortify and keep yourselves alive against insensate evil.

Big Cons: once you get powerful, you get too powerful and the game loses all sense of danger. Only solution is to start a new game and go through it again. This lends itself to deja vu pretty quickly - they need to find a way to keep the game growing with the player. That being said, they have improved the overall balance of difficulty. I think it will continue to improve in this area as well. I would not play single-player - I think the majority of its magic is in banding up with friends to get creative in base-building and survival (although it is harder as a lone player, to be sure)

The only games that I've enjoyed that have "Zombies" in them, are Telltale's Walking Dead Series (1 & 2). And of course, Half-Life.

Agreed! Even though I've enjoyed the Resident Evil games over the years I have to say that Dying Light has taken over as my personal favorite "ULTIMATE" zombie game.

By setting it up in a open-world, Dying Light is a zombie fans dream come true.
