Hello my fellow comrades, here is a PC gamer that need a good modern RTS game, i dont care for price, requirements just need to play modern and good RTS if there is one, last what i have played it was only Age of Empires I and II remastered, CNC whole Serial and Desert of Kharak - Homeworld.

Was googling for upcoming and current RTS games, but its futile, and please guys avoid answering Warcraft 3 Reforged(Its abomination of a game).

Thank you in advance.

Depends on what kind of RTS you like, really. From what you listed it sounds like you like base building ones, which have gone a bit out of style. You could go with Grey Goo or Act of Aggression, maybe Dawn of War 3. They're not great, but they're all right if you're starved for an RTS. If you like Dungeon Keeper I would recommend Dungeons 2, it's a pretty good game with great narration.

Or, you know, Starcraft 2 is free on Battlenet, if you haven'ìt played it.

@Assimilat0r: me too, dude, me too. Was actually looking for a recent RTS the other day that I haven't played, couldn't find any :(

Anyway, in no particular order, here are some of my favorite RTS's of the last decade or so:

  • Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War
  • Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2
  • Act of Aggression
  • Wargame: AirLand Battle and Wargame: Red Dragon (they're technically tactics games, not base-building RTS, but they scratch a similar itch and if you like history and realism it's a good couple of games)
  • Ashes of the Singularity
  • Company of Heroes 2
  • Earth 2150
  • Earth 2160
  • Forged Battalion (it's not a particularly great game, but if you want a simple C&C style RTS it's OK).
  • Grey Goo
  • Northgard
  • Planetary Annihilation
  • Spellforce 3 (good hybrid of RPG and RTS, really corny fantasy stuff but really good too).
  • They Are Billions (zombies? RTS? Hordes? Insanely challenging? Yes please!)

Do you like turn-based strategy and 4X games? They work for me.

I heard AoE4 is in the works, but it's probably a long ways off yet. Will supposedly return to the popular medieval setting of 2.

I know Command & Conquer is also getting a remake. Those were pretty great, what I played of them anyway.

I haven't tried the second one yet, but I was in the minority that kind of liked Halo Wars. I feel like the genre will experience a mini revival, on PC as well as console.

Well, its not modern but i have been playing Age of empires 2 DE for a while. The community is very large and get a lot of updates very frequently and the content you get for the price is huge.

Not a suggestion but did you ever play that voice activated Tom Clancy RTS( Endwar)? I still have it and haven't opened it.
