I've been looking for an open world pirate RPG for a while now. A good one doesn't exist.
Unfortunately not. Propaganda Games was working on an Action RPG for Disney based on Pirates of the Caribbean, called Armada of the Damned, but it was canceled after a massive restructuring. Which was a shame as it was looking very promising.
I haven't played many, and I need some new games to play.
Sleeping Dogs, Skyrim, Far Cry 3, Infamous 1 and 2, Darksiders 1 and 2 (open enough), RAGE Anarchy Edition, Blood Dragon, does Guacamelee count?, Dark Souls 2 (open enough), Shadow of the Colussus, Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen, Kingdom of Amalur, Nier.
@Lulu_Lulu: you saying they suck is as subjective a phrase as saying you hate them, because that's YOUR opinion. You think open-world games suck. Fine. That's your opinion. Many many people have either the same or the opposite opinion as you. To say they suck objectively is a fallacy, because there's too many people with differing opinions on the genre.
@Lulu_Lulu: And to say that all open-world games are of poor quality is only an opinion. I think they're a great type of game to make that can be both fun and engaging, but that's my opinion.
And to say you like something because it sucks is a bit of a contradiction when you think about it. Granted, there are some bad games and films that fall under the "so bad, it's good" category, but to say that about an entire genre is really stretching it. Again, it all boils down to opinion.
@mastermetal777
I didn't say they are of "poor quality" I said they suck.... Big Difference ! Assassin's Creed is of great Quality and I like it.... But it Sucks... surely even you can see the distinction there.... its not that complicated.
".....it all boils down to opinion."
and thats your oppinion..... Ironic isn't it ? ;)
@Lulu_Lulu: Uhm...saying something is of poor quality implies that it sucks. And you saying a game is of great quality and yet it sucks is, yet again, a contradictory statement.
Actually, if what you say only rings true for some people - or even exclusively to yourself - and not everyone, it's automatically considered an opinion. That's a known fact.
@mastermetal777
Not true.... Its not the Quality thats sucking..... The quality is great.... Something else is sucking.... Thats pretty straightfoward... Ask anyone !
"....it's automatically considered an opinion. That's a known fact."
Which is your opinion.... See.... Its not nice when somebody hand waves away everything you say by calling it an opinion.... ;) FYI, thats totally just my opinion, maybe factually speaking it actually is nice.... Which is just another opinion.
You know what... You're not a real human being.... You think you are because Thats just your opinion.... Hahaha ! Opinions are funny..... And that is a known fact ! ;)
@Lulu_Lulu: Yeah, and stating your piece like it's a fact of the universe is totally the better option. Makes you feel more important, right? Yes, anything can be an opinion, but that doesn't excuse stupidity.
@Lulu_Lulu: "I didn't say they are of "poor quality" I said they suck.... Big Difference ! Assassin's Creed is of great Quality and I like it.... But it Sucks... "
I understand and agree with that totally
