I personally don't get all hyped up over games anymore ever since i played GTA IV (dissapointment, read my review on it). I seem to enjoy games more if i don't hype them. I also like to look at games with a realistic view; where i live everyone was excited about Mirrors Edge for some reason. I was probably the only one to realize that it wasn't and 8.0-9.0 game. ""Seriously, when Mirrors Edge comes out it'll be linear as hell, trust me."" And when it did come, everyone was dissapointed.

I 'hype' a lot, actually, I hype about a lot of games that come out for any console. Mostly because A) if I do, my parents may spot me some cash to purchase it, and B) after watching tons of videos on it, gameplay trailers, and then playing the demo, my hype was all worth it... But, yes, I hyped over the new Naruto PS3 game, and I actually enjoy it much more. I hyped over the old Nintendo Gamecube games, and I still play them very often.

I guess it depends on how long before the game comes out that I find out about it like i was hyped for GTA 4 and disapointed but i wasnt that hyped for fallout 3 and i love that game and now im hyped for DC universe online (I hope it doesnt disapoint) but not that hyped for godfather 2 or mafia 2 or Red Dead Redemtion.

When a game looks really good i'll hype it and usually pre-order. I've only pre-ordered 4 games in my life: Gears of War 2(limited edition), Dead Space,Resident Evil 5, and Halo Wars.

I just don't get hyped anymore. In fact the most hyped I get is when I'm coming home with the game and can't wait to play it.

Even in the past though I would never judge a game depending on my hype. It's nonsense. Judge the game on its own because 5 years from now any marketing it had is irrelevant.

I don't hype games, I just get excited for them. I think there's a difference between the two.

I will relate my level of hypedness but I will not try to influence others. I may get excited about games and stuff but 90% of the time games are a let down or downright broken and screwed up. Like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 that is coming. Now I should be running all over and bouncing off the walls because I love that whole series. However MUA 1 was glitched and broken and worse yet MUA2 has an entirely different dev team and its one I hate to death. SF4 looks beautiful and it will be nice to play a street fighter game again because its definately been awhile all the ps2 versions sucked. However there is a reason 2d fighters got left in the dirt, they are just not as fun mechanically so I know no matter how fun SF4 is its not going to be like "Oh yeah baby SF is the king of all fighters again!!!"

The last game I got burned by was Soul Nomad and the World Eaters from NIS. I got so worked up over that game and baught it on release day and it turned out to be utter crap.

I'm not a very violent hyper, but I like getting excited about upcoming games.

I hyped a lot for SPORE, and it turned out ok...

Now the targets for my hyping is Bionic Commando, Sims 3 and Champions Online!! :D

Hype is like saying you hate brussel sprouts and never trying them. It's not good for the prostate.

I hype a lot on games that are amazing regardless of how long before it comes out. Although sometimes there are times when games can be a dissapointment when it comes out.

I don't hype, I can get really really excited for certain games though, like Diablo 3, and RE5.

To be honest I never really do. I rely on the hype of others to build anticipation for games.
