Games with the most annoying NPCs

I find few things more frustrating in a game than when you have an AI-controlled character that, intentionally or otherwise, does his/her utmost to sabotage your efforts. I can't think of too many examples off the top of my head but ones that spring to mind are (1) Noober in Baldur's Gate. Who hasn't killed this guy? (2) Lance in Vice City Stories. Although he is characterised as crazy, is he supposed to be so crazy that he constantly veers into your submachine gun fire during one of the motorcycle missions? After you end up inadvertently killing him you just want to resurrect him so you can kill him again. (3) Any of the NPCs in Sacred if you had to save them. The unarmed fools would charge the nearest enemy and slap them with their fists until they met a swift and deserving end. Pain.

Which NPCs would you give the honour of being the most moronic and frustrating?

Chicken Escort from WoW. Even though I don't play any more, when I first encountered the chicken escort I was frustrated.

Also Fabio, a quest NPC in Old Tarantia, in the game Age of Conan(which I also don't play anymore). When I found out his princess was a cat (or a dog, can't remember) I was slightly disgruntled.

Halo 3. Most of the time, The Arbiter's just going: DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DUH DUH DUH DUH PICK MY NOSE DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Those NPC's have the worst AI ever.
Running into walls and continuing to run while facing the wall, standing at point blank range and shooting at eachother and actually missing, Shooting you in the back all of a sudden even though there are no enemies close and my favorite running around like headless chickens.

The game was amusing for the sole purpose of wondering if Wally from the Comic Dilbert was in charge of the AI.

I count myself one of them. I tend to avoid those 'classic' franchises for some reason, especially if it's Nintendo and if it involves puzzles and/or platforming.
