what games have really touched and triggered strong emotions?

games that made you really sad? angry? happy?

for example, FLower for exapmle, I heard it it made a few people have tears..

and do you like it when video games hit home and make you have all these emotions?

would you want to see more games in the future like this?

The Darkness.

-No Spoilers below btw.

(Edited) The Darkness, for some odd reason had a strong impact on me. Ive played games like Heavy Rain or FFX and sure, they had an impact on my emotions, but The Darkness was special. The Darkness "imo" had the best voice acting ive ever got out of a game, so thats probably 1 main reason it impacted me as much as it did, and ofcourse the story as well.

recently, Heavy Rain, FFXIII, Persona 3, anything with child/parents getting reunited after a seemingly infinite separation makes me tear up. and i just happened to play those three games almost back to back.

MGS3
Being forced to execute The Boss after our battle was pretty painful, considering how great a character she was, and that you had just learned about her true reasons for doing everything she had done. I really tried to find a way to not do, and when it became clear I had no choice, I raged a bit realizing I had no choice but to do it. I wasn't easy to do, but I wanted to see it through.
FFX's ending always gets me. I think it's the only game that's ever made me shed tears.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. Some of those speed runs and purple coin challenges had me more angry than I've been in a long, long time.

Pretty much every Need for Speed game triggered strong emotions of rage, and hate towards the developers. And my gamepads.

Definitely Persona 3 fes and 4. In 4 I started shedding tears right at the very end with the picture being shown if you get the True Ending.

Recently it was the ending of Red Dead Redemption, I won't say which emotion because that might be giving away to much information. But the ending was just really, really, effective.

Beyond Good and Evil had a few fantastic moments with characters you actually cared about (never felt more attatched to a character than I was to Jade)

Also Super Mario Galaxy 2 had me tearing up with more joy than I have ever felt playing a video game in the 21 years I have lived.

The CCTV camera (you) guides the main character, you have to help her solve puzzles, hack terminals and stuff. I suggest you look for the walk-through to get some general tips on how to play it.

The ending of Half-Life 2: Episode Two

I also was mad with some levels in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The Prankster Comet on Chompworks to be exact. But I completed it.

Shadow of the Colossus, the first Colossi I downed made me feel like never before I've felt about defeating an enemy on a game. It made me feel bad, I literally uttered: "What have I done?!" after I saw how the Colossi crumbled to the ground. I felt like a monster and not like the hero of the story, Right then I knew somehow I had put into motion a series of events that would not end up well.

MGS3 & MGS4, Snake had been a character I cared about for years. (MGS4 was the first game I realized a game could equal or surpass a movies emotional depth)

Bioshock 1 & 2, especially the different endings of 2.

GOW III, more for the probable ending of Krato's journey.

GTA SA: Set in my HS years, I loved everything about this game.

RDR now that I've read the rest of the posts, I'm dying to see what happens, but I just made it to Mexico and am enjoying taking it slowly.

The end of Half-Life 2: Episode Two is not only the saddest thing I've ever seen in a game, but also one of the saddest things I've ever seen full stop. I was sat in stunned silence for a few minutes afterwards while the credits rolled.

And despite already knowing what the twist was in Bioshock (a combination of guesswork and someone on here spoiling it), I got chills when it was revealed, and I still do to this day... probably just because of the way it's presented.

MGS3/MGS4, especially MGS3, the ending had me angry/sad/shocked and emotionally drawn out, one of the best videogame endings ever. MGS4 because it was the conclusion to an amazing series.
